Just that really. I have a wonderful middle-aged tabby who turned up in my garden nearly eight years ago and seems to have no intention of going home. She was about 5 years old, a skinny little thing, spayed and obviously looked after at some point but no chip and no forthcoming owner!

DH had died about 6 months before (hated cats- so cat free house) in a weird way as we could not have him back we were keeping her! She also looked just like my cat growing up who I remember getting aged 3 as my first memory and then living for 22 years amazing years. I know for most humans, their own feline overlords are the best- but surely everyone knows tabby cats are the most beautiful, felines ever!

Hobbes the tabby, he's always on the wrong side of every door. He's a total diva and very expressive, he has an opinion about everything and suffers from serious FOMO. He's either outside supervising the neighbours' goings on or inside curled up with teenage DD. He insists on "helping" with the ironing.

I love tabby cats. They are second best after ginger toms. (Sorry but my gingers explained this to me and I can't disagree. No point arguing with a cat.)

Here is Magnus with his extra toes. He sleeps cuddled up with me with a protective paw over my arm.

I love love love my tabby Ralph- I will always go for kale tabbies from now on 💕 He's so chatty and affectionate- he's like my shadow (and he dribbles when he purrs!). He's a murderous beast though- poor shrews in our local area ☹️
Here he is helping me work x

I am on my first tabby cat, after having had black or black and white only. All rescues. 😊

This is our cat, he eats for England! Someone told me tabbies are the labradors of the cat world, which certainly goes with ours. He is fabulous.

Love this thread. Tabby cats are the best :)

My darling Harlequin Bogwoppit, sadly no longer with us 😢

So small (about 3kg at his max), so fluffy, so beautiful. I still miss him so much.

I can't cope with the cuteness of all your beautiful tabbies 😍

catandcoffee · 05/08/2022 00:05

@YesItsMeIDontCare
What a beauty so very sad for your loss.
He looks like my gorgeous boy Tomcat.
I lost him 25 years ago and still miss him too.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 05/08/2022 00:49

@catandcoffee Thank you. He went to Rainbow Bridge in 2017 but it still hurts that maybe I didn't do enough for him.

We now have Leroy who is a massive feisty black bugger. Love him to bits too, but Harley - for some reason - holds a special place beyond all others 🤷🏼‍♀️ Maybe because he always showed his love for me the most.

Proud tabby mama here! shes a 5 pound disaster. I adopted her at 1 year old after she had been through 4 homes. She hates men (figuring she may have been abused). She hates people, only wants love on her time, likes to hide under my chair most of the day but runs like the wind when my aunt yells "HEY GIRLFREIND:" she loves loves loves my aunt.

One of my "black" cats is actually a tabby! Very dark charcoal tabby, so the light has to be just right to see it.

Have no idea what breed my cat is, but seems tabby like?

I have never seen a cat with that colouring-what a beauty!!

This is ours…she was a scrawny stray who we rescued from the local Toms on the driveway many years ago. Then, she was a champion mouser but now mainly relaxes. We always say we read so much Mog to the children (and The Patchwork Cat - a must have children’s book for tabby owners) that we manifested our own. And she does like to sniff all the things in the garden and poo behind a tree and jump up on the windows! Unlike Mog, she actually loves babies though.

I fostered two like that, we called them the black tigers.

Here's madam.

Yes she is in a washing machine.

My long departed (and much missed) one-eyed grey tabby. I've always had very friendly cats but he was the most gregarious cat I've ever met 😊.

TalkingToMyselfAgain · 05/08/2022 10:39

My Mr Cooper was feral until I trapped him then took him in, 11 years ago (it was a long procedure to get him used to living in a home). I absolutely adore him. He's the most gentle, affectionate cat I've ever had in 42 years of having cats. He's about 19 now, deaf, no fangs, only 1 eye. (photo is s few years old)

Lovely photos everyone - tabby cuteness overload.
My boy was in trouble at 6am for attacking his much smaller, quieter sister, and then doing a huge wee in the hall. I think he's trying to tell me the litter tray needs cleaning out andthat he preferred being an Only Cat .
