How my cats (lizards) are dealing with this terrible heat?

By lying full length on top of me every night covering me with their fur coats....I'm dying.

Thankfully, my house is very cool, so they're all sleeping as normal. One with me and the other two in their beds in the kitchen or outside on verandah.

I'm on nights and it's 25 degrees in my room. Cheddar is insisting on cuddles. Still could be worse the ward was over 30 last night.

The neighbors cat slept on my shady lawn and didn’t move for about 4 hours. My own cat snoozed in a flower bed that was damp. 😆

Hmm the Siberian has taken to her bombshelters - underbeds.
Siberia has a temperature range of -20 to early 20s so you she has the coat adapted to cope with this range of temperatures. It turns out that she only goes out on mild dry days, the rest of the time she stays home.
The new overlords are of course continue to whizz about like they are on speed!

My cats have spent all the nights since it's been hot outside. Makes a pleasant change from ftting around them both on my bed.

Too Hot For Snuggles does not exist. I have given up hope of persuading the BalletCats of it being a real thing.

They have cooling mats they could be sleeping on, but no…

One of my cats has taken to lying on our neighbour's son's bed for the vast bulk of the day. About tea time every night our neighbour carries her home again to us for her dinner.

(We are all okay with the arrangement. Especially the cat).

Mine is stretched out on his back like he's been crucified in the middle of the living room floor, getting in everyone's way.

On top of a cabinet, toe beans pointed towards the fan

I have shut mine inside with me as it is 10 degrees cooler, they have water, cooled beds etc. One is on the stairs as that is the most awkward place to lie. The other is under the front door curtain which is probably the 2nd hottest place inside.

If I put the tower fan on they sleep behind it or wrapped around the base!

I actually dripped my cat with water (so on my hands and then her -not pouring it directly on) until she was completely soaked, and then she sat in the shade and dried off slowly. She's 12, long haired and blind (with some other disabilities she was born with), so I'm paranoid that she won't be able to find her way to cool spots/her body will struggle. She is managing to avoid the cool mat I've put down though.

Mine practically shat himself and jumped 6ft in the air when I turned my fan on and the breeze blew across his arse 😹

Out of all my animals (horses, dogs, cats and rabbits) the cats seem to be the ones enjoying the weather.

Mine has been out once and came back with half a bush on him, so I'm assuming he's keeping sheltered. He's now passed out next to me on my cool leather handbag.

Has shunned the cool mat, is most annoyed when I turn the fan on. His food sachet is chilling in the fridge for dinner, which will likely be shunned, preferring cupboard warmed meat flakes

Brother and sister here. Brother is a bit dim at the best of times and has only ventured outside back door and currently lingering under the BBQ.
Sister is a bit of a wild rambler. She went out at six, came back at seven then out to roam.
Thought we wouldn't see her except maybe a bit of a glance when she sneaked in for teatime.
She's just rumbled up and is showing no interest on going out now so we've scooped up her brother and have them in the house until later.
That's all great and sensible but it means they'll go out later and stay out until silly o'clock and then wake me up to let them in, cos apparently no one else hears their ear piercing cries

Mine has a cool mat but is currently sleeping in the hot bedroom with the sun on him 🤷‍♀️

Siblings here, boy cat (pic) was showing how long he can stretch in shade then ventured with his sister into the deep hedge, girl cat came out as I gave some fresh wet food with bit if water mixed in, her fur felt okay so think it must be nice and cool deep in there
