Help me pick a name for my black kitten! 🖤

Hi all.

I'm trying to think of a unique name for a female black kitten that'll i'll be bringing home in 3 weeks, but I'm really struggling! Normally I'm good at thinking of names but I just can't think of anything creative.

The only ones that come to mind are

Luna (but there's already a luna in our family. My brothers gf pinched it after finding out it was what I was going to call my daughter! Haha)
Midnight
Gypsy
Minnie

That's all I've come up with so far. I've googled black cats names and there's loads but nothing really stands out to me yet. Nothing jumps out and I think "yes! That's it!".

Our black panther is called Hallie. I've tried to name cats with cartoon cat names. I was running out, and called her Hallie as Halle Berry played cat woman. Thought it was better than Anne (Hathaway), but Eartha would have been good!
Ember is nice too.

I have a dog called Nova but my other choice when picking names was Nero.
She didn't suit Nero

Nova as in supernova I like to think! For reference, she looks like a small teddy bear

I once heard of someone who called their cat Maud, as in “come into the garden Maud, for the black bat night has flown” so they could stand on the doorstep…….

Had a black kitten with blue eyes - called him Frank after old blue eyes. Seemed to suit him!

Morticia? Her markings remind me of Angelica Houston’s hair in the Addams Family.

My black cat was called Edison. He was a rescue who had been kept shut in an under stairs cupboard for days at a time and was subsequently scared of the dark. I thought the inventor of the incandescent bulb would probably be his hero!

Our all black cat is called 'Orion'. It was only after he had shown his true character that I realised Orion is 'the hunter'. If I ever had another all black cat I'd call him 'Zealand', as in New Zealand whose rugby team is the 'all blacks'.

We’ve called our black cat Buffy she was born in October so thought it had a bit of a Halloween vibe to it - always makes the vets laugh.

Hi all! Thankyou to everyone who responded with all these fantastic names! I haven't been on the thread for a few days so didn't see all the other posters, sorry! I paid the rest of the adoption fee yesterday so she's all sorted in that respect and I've ordered kitten food, milk, cat litter and toys etc. I've just been busy preparing for her arrival, which will be in 3 weeks time when she'd ready to leave her mummy. I can't wait to meet her and bring her home but when I do, I'll report back with pictures of her and how she's settling in! :) 🖤

Oh, I meant to add 😂 we have decided on a name! I asked my daughter yesterday what name she would pick out of all the ones suggested and she thought Gypsy was a good idea. I agree! 😂 it's been fun and interesting looking through all the suggestions everyone made though, so thanks again all!

Hi all,

So I checked my messages from the breeder I'm buying from and it turns out they've sexed the kittens wrong. My girl kitten is in fact a boy kitten! 😊😂 so now I'll have to change the name I chose lmao. Does anyone have any suggestions? I still like midnight and Salem though!
