I think I have become my cat's fluffer!

We adopted a male cat about 5 months ago. Lovely old boy (14 to 16) we were told but still very much full of beans. He's fitted in to the family well and is very tolerant. So far, so good.

However, when he kneads he does it with all four legs and, after a while, he'll be erect, jump down and lick himself. Now, I was aware of kneading but my husband's old cats had done it without the weird little codicil.

Do other cats do this? How should I respond? I've realised that I've let this happen often enough (it took me a while to clock what he was up to) now that he does it almost every day if he gets a chance. He occasionally does it to my husband if I am not available but I am, apparently, his favourite fluffer.

He's a cat that shows love through proximity rather than obvious affection so I don't want to shove him away pre-emptively.

He has been neutered but at what point in his life I can't say, unfortunately. I don't know much either about how much love and affection he has before he came into CPL's care.

Anyone have any wisdom please??

Are all these little wankers getting a happy ending out of this?! I have a 10m old boy kitten whose balls were whisked off at 4m. Thankfully I've never witnessed any antics like this from him.

Mine’s a wanker too. If you stroke him you’ve effectively invited him to carry out a serious sexual assault on your forearm. He bites the back of your hand and straddles your arm whilst going for it.

The unnerving bit is that if anyone comes in the room he immediately stops and walks away

Absolutely hilarious! Its extraordinary how some male behaviours transcend species. I've only ever had female cats and I had no idea this was even possible after neutering, female cats don't exhibit any of this.

I fostered, then rehomed a cat. He was intact when we got him, and judging from the colour of some of the strays near where he used to live he may be a father.

He used to enjoy kneading/humping blankets etc.

We got him neutered once he was officially our cat, and he still does a suspicious kneading of blankets, but not... until satisfied any longer. It's still very different from the way my other male DCat kneads, which is front paws only while drooling, as if for milk

It's lucky DCat3 is so pretty.

Have 2 girls cats and not experienced this with our family male cats however I am an unneutured male rabbit that used to get friendly with my rabbit slippers

Mine doesn't do normal affectionate kneading either. With him it's all just foreplay.

I think that's part of the trouble for me as his main affectionate behaviour is humping and the post-nut cuddle. I feel like if I wrote this in relationships I would definitely be told to LTB but the little furry pervert has me asking for advice on buying him humping toys!

It only happened the once. I think my outrage when I woke up to find him humping my ear was so much that he didn't find my ear sexy again

Dcat3 has a thing for a certain pair of DH’s socks. Now known as the Sex Socks.
Never seen his lipstick but he certainly looks like he’s enjoying himself. Neutered but we don’t know when as we got him as an adult.

I’m so glad this isn’t just my Dcat who does this. All the same things. Fixed eyes, stiffened legs and shivering or quivering.

He does it to my duvet while sniffing the bit that touches my face. The towels, fleece blankets left scrumpled up on the sofa. Soft toys….it’s constant.

He was a rescue. Neutered about 10 months old. But his balls aren’t the same as male cats I’ve had neutered at a younger age. I haven’t had the courage to ask my vet incase he thinks I’m the pervert, not the cat.

Aw jeez, I had my lady cat at the 3 times for worms until the vet very kindly pointed out it wasn’t worms but a little self love. She was neutered but would drag herself across the door mat till she was bright red and then lick it tenderly, worst of all she’d put her red bits on your hand if your hands were cold. Made me wince to think about it.

My Ragdoll is a rescue. When I took him for his first check I tried to explain the problem to the vet. I may have said he got 'fruity' with certain household items. She looked me straight in the eye and said "you mean humping?" I then had to endure him being passed around all of the staff and them saying how handsome he is. I swear this has fuelled his belief that he is a Cat Sex God.

Here's the blue-eyed-butter-wouldn't-melt sod. Hence the entire staff in our Vets Practice cooing over him "ooh, what a handsome boy, such a BIG boy"

To top it off, his name is Mr Darcy

@RainbowZebraWarrior I can see why he is used to being able to have his wicked way with the ladies!

Mine is more of a scruffy old man (entirely toothless and only just getting back thicker fur on his tail before which it looked like a pipe cleaner) so I think he's more hopeful for the sympathy shag!
