Heartbroken after my little vegetable was put to sleep this morning

This is my first mN post
My cat was put to sleep this morning and I'm in pieces.
He was only 2.5 years old and I loved him like a child (no human children)
It happened all of a sudden - he had seemed poorly only since Monday and vets didn't seem unduly concerned.
Can anyone offer any advice. I just can't stop crying.

It's devastating when you lose your little best friend, be kind to yourself OP and take comfort that he knew he was loved and felt safe.

Oh that's so sad, and I'm sorry. Poor little boy. It's horrible when a pet dies.
