I've tried googling but can't decide. It's not as big as some he's had and brought to me with love.

Postdatedpandemic · 10/10/2021 10:13

Rat I'm afraid

Well done that cat

dementedpixie · 10/10/2021 10:13

Rat I think

LividLackey · 10/10/2021 10:14

Young rat I think. Quite a thick tail.

FionnulaTheCooler · 10/10/2021 10:14

I'd say rat, the field mice my cat brings in usually have skinnier tails than that.

Blankspace4 · 10/10/2021 10:14

Yes, that’s a rat. Eeek.

FlatteredFool · 10/10/2021 10:17

He's a devil for them. Two this week in the early hours. I think he's now taken it to his actual owner. She'll be thrilled.

You have my sympathies. At least it's dead?!

FlatteredFool · 10/10/2021 10:21

soddingkitten · 10/10/2021 10:22

MrsSkylerWhite · 10/10/2021 10:22

Rat

saleorbouy · 10/10/2021 10:23

That's a rat, at least moggie is earning it's keep.

FairyHuck · 10/10/2021 10:24

Rat. Maybe puss has found a nest. Good puss

RatintheCat · 10/10/2021 10:32

Argh! I think I worked out where all the rats were coming from as ours has now moved onto tiny, live mice. I think we ended up with only 3 live rats but it seemed to be linked to some road works which I assume disturbed a nest. I've evicted the third live mouse this week today before breakfast 🙄

Flufferty · 11/10/2021 09:07

Baby rat 🤮

Dizzywizz · 11/10/2021 09:16

Argh this has confirmed for me that my shih tzu (not normally known for this sort of thing!!) brought me a (dead) rat for a third time yesterday. I’m assuming (hoping!) he’s finding them dead rather than killing them. We get a lot of cats in our garden who I think are killing them and leaving them.

FlatteredFool · 11/10/2021 10:04

No gifts awaiting me when he shouted to come in at 4am today thank goodness. Why do I get the early morning wake up calls instead of his actual owners?? He's too cute to be cross with and he knows it.

Because you let him in.....the owners have probably set the cat flap to no entry over night so they don't wake up to dead/live rats in the house!!
FindingMeno · 11/10/2021 10:11

Definitely a rat.
My puss used to eat the front half and gift me the rear half.

FlatteredFool · 11/10/2021 10:28

They don't have a cat flap. He knows he's always welcome for a sleepover and snuggles and is very loved. His owners know he's with us half the time.

My Godmother had a mostly Shi Tsu (1/8 yorkie) who was a marvellous ratter. Would regularly present me with the remains when I stayed on their farm.
