We have the opportunity to re-home the above breed, he is already 12 years old. We have 3 young adult kids at home & no other pets, having previously had a fantastic Staffordshire for 10 years who sadly got put to sleep last month.
Any experience of this breed very welcome as we need to make a decision fast!

The day we got him was so lovely-the next day we were looking forward to getting to know him, then he just disappeared at 9am. We looked absolutely everywhere for 8 hours, very stressful & sad for the whole family. Rescue centre said not to panic. There was no way he could of escaped outside but we still drove round the streets & knocked on neighbours doors. My son decided to play cat noises on his phone at 5.30pm and Humphrey responded! He was under the floorboards in the bathroom. It's being re-done & all boarded over apart from one small gap which Humphrey managed to squeeze through & spend the day hiding. So happy & relieved to have him back. How embarrassing losing him on the 1st day Confused
Apart from that-he is seriously cute & but inquisitive! He's eating his food & using his litter tray so we forgive him Wink He hasn't used any of the fancy cushions or blankets we brought him & prefers to balance on the back of the sofa & other weird places....

I only came onto this thread as I thought it was titled "Parisian Binmen", looks like it's time I had my glasses prescription updated! Thank you for the gorgeous photos of the cats though.

I couldn't find Maia for the first 24 hours. I discovered that there was a gap down the side of the kitchen units and she was in the gap
Underneath. She stayed there for 8 days!

Fortunately, I'd been warned by the foster carer that she would do it. I was also warned that she would completely dominate the house and her sister, when she did appear. And she did!

An update on Humphrey...
He's adorable, he has learnt to use the newly installed cat flap this weekend so he's been out & about, clearly exhausted himself.
Just hoping he doesn't get into any scraps with neighbouring cats as he has a history of not getting on with other cats, fingers crossed...

Aw so pretty xx

Glad he is more settled....mine is literally climbing curtains!

Toddlerteaplease · 22/03/2021 10:52

Aww he's gorgeous. I love it when they lie like that.

Horsemad · 23/03/2021 14:05

He's gorgeous, looks more Birman than Persian 🙂

I have a Birmie - never met a funnier cat than her, she makes me laugh every day!
