Does your cat have a favourite person in your household?

My husband often remarks that I'm his favourite. He follows me around the home and when he feels like being affectionate, he always comes to me. However my husband does interact with him and is usually the sole feeder for him. I wish it wasn't like this as I think my husband feels a bit left out (though he says he doesn't mind). Is it usual that cats will bond to predominantly one person, what's your experience?

Our big ginger cat is totally bonded to young adult DS3. I'm next, then DH if cat is really desperate for attention. If DS2 and DS1 are home, they can be slotted in between DS3 and me. The pecking order is very clear indeed. DS3 carries DCat around in his arms like a furry baby. I'd lose an eye if I tried that.

Yes, my DH. I'll do when he's not around but clearly only as a last resort.

Both our cats prefer me. One is still quite friendly to DP, but will follow me around the house and likes to sit atop the cupboards in my office and lord it over me while I work from home.

Her brother is basically a one-person cat and I am his person. He will run away and hide from all people he doesn't know well (including DP occasionally). Constantly meows at me for attention/food/rubs. Every night at about 8pm, he will howl at me until I let him sit on me. He also sleeps on me every single night without fail, he pretty much has to be touching me at all times while he sleeps. He's my baby though, so it suits me Grin

My cat loves only me and always has. Guests, ex-husbands, visitors in general she goes bananas hissing, biting if anyone touches her and generally being evil.
She's 19 but has to be put away in my bedroom if anyone visits and we can hear her growling up there.
When we are on our own she'll let me do anything with her, she is so cuddly.

Our cat also attacks almost all visitors, even if they bring a tin of tuna with water left in (her favourite) she will eat the tuna, drink the water then swipe them and hiss at them. Though workmen are OK as she loves inspecting their work.

Yep, the cat is obsessed with DH. Funnily enough it was me that really wanted a cat and DH was on the fence, in the early days of having DS sometimes DH would sleep on the sofa so he wasn't exhausted for work and the cat would curl up next to him (he's not allowed in the bedroom)
