I think my baby is poorly :(

Dcat seems to be acting really strange. She’s normally very vocal and so far nothing today. She’s not ate or drank, she’s not touched her treats and she keeps hiding under the bed/table. Which she never does. She normally sleeps on the sofa or beds.

She isn’t purring when we stroke her and seems abit dazed.

She has an appointment at the vets this afternoon. I don’t drive and have Noway of getting her there until my dp gets home.

I feel so sad for her. She seems depressed.

Any ideas what it could be?

Dd4 stood on her tail yesterday morning but she just yelped and ran, I don’t think it hurt her ? Iv felt her tail and she’s waging it still. She was fine after it.

She's lovely. I hope she's soon better.

Mummypig2020 · 26/08/2020 23:05

Thank you.

She’s just turned one and we “rescued” her from a woman on my Facebook. She was tiny so I snatched her up. She was covered in fleas and ticks. She weighed 300g.

Iv just seen on my Facebook that the mum has just had her second litter since Dcat. I’m fuming. I just want to scream. That poor mumma cat 😔

Please keep us updated x

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 06:29

Thank you, I rang and they said she’s ate and drank abit and her temp has came down lots and she’s more lively, which sounds like my Demelza Grin. The vet will ring me at 9 when they do their rounds. X

Omg it’s Demelza, I didn’t recognise her as an adult!. Eating a very good sign.

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 07:17

Yes it’s Demelza :) the little bugger who used to drive me insane 😂Grin she’s like a completely different kitty now days :)

That's fantastic news. I expect the antibiotics have kicked in now. The fact she has eaten is a great sign that she's obviously feeling much better in herself.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2020 07:49

She’s found a new way of driving you insane now. What we wouldn’t give for them rampaging around the house when their not there though.

Your grey hairs will be popping through after this Wink

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 07:59

They really are lol.

I’m so glad she’s insured because the bill is £1200 so far! 😩

She’s gorgeous! Good job too with the size of that bill 🤣🥰

Icequeen01 · 27/08/2020 09:09

Ouch! 😀

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 10:17

I’m really worried she will come home and the infection will get bad again.

Do I have to clean everything, and if so what cleaner is best? I normally just wash her bowls 🙈

I’m sorry worried :(

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2020 10:50

Just wash her bowls as normal.

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 11:37

Rang and they said she’s comfortable and that they need to keep her in for a bit longer to keep an eye on her temp and retake her bloods and for her to eat :(

OP posts:
User7764217 · 27/08/2020 11:46

That’s not such a bad thing! Means she will be under the expert eye a little while longer. Trust me when I got my cat home the other day I literally watched him for over 24 hours. Not healthy for either one of us. I’d probably do it again too 😩😂

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2020 12:03

They’ll most likely prescribe antibiotics for home, ask for crushable.

I once requested liquid as the cattery would be giving it (fight wound🤨) & it was £60. Pineapple flavour they were.

Toddlerteaplease · 27/08/2020 12:55

She's gorgeous!

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 13:55

Has she had all her vaccinations and is she neutered?

Mummypig2020 · 27/08/2020 14:11

Yep, she was spayed at 3 months.

Just rang again and they said she still hasn’t eaten but she might be stressed. They asked if I could bring her home and then bring her back tomorrow but I can’t. I don’t drive and my dp is at work until 2 and it’s a good 45 mins away 😩

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 27/08/2020 15:36

Bugger. They can’t hold out forever though.

Mummypig2020 · 28/08/2020 08:25

She ate a little bit last night! She’s coming home today. I’m so excited.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/08/2020 10:28

Oh that’s good news. Is she coming home with meds?. Can you crush them?.
