I'm so so sad, my lovely little cat has died.

He'd not been well for a while, got very thin, was struggling to breathe and every day when I came downstairs I'd be anxious to see if he was still alive. But now he's gone. I miss him so much, I keep looking out the French windows, hoping to see his little face but he's crawled off in the garden to die alone. I just miss him so much, he was the sweetest little thing and, in lockdown, my little friend, as I live alone. I know pp are facing real losses right now, but this just hurts so much. I posted on here as I know other cat lovers would understand how much love you can feel for a cat. Every time I think of him, and his funny little ways, I start crying. I can't believe I'll never see him again...Sad

I am so sorry for the loss of your little cat baby. It is a real loss. True love for an animal is such a pure type of love, I think. Take care.

Ahhh so sorry to hear this, those little cats get into your hearts don’t they? Take comfort in the fact you gave him the best life x

LifeOfBriony · 16/04/2020 21:19

I am so sad for you. We lost one two years ago and out other one nine months later - I still miss them. Flowers

SirVixofVixHall · 16/04/2020 21:21

I am another person also wondering if you have found him or not, as your post suggests not ? He may need to see a vet ? Was he on medication as he was so unwell ?

MikeUniformMike · 16/04/2020 21:29

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, OP.
I would be heartbroken.

Big virtual hug.

Want2beme · 16/04/2020 21:39

How do you know that he's dead if he went into the garden to die? I hope you found him.

aWeaponCalledtheWord · 16/04/2020 21:41

i’m so sorry for the loss of your gorgeous boy.

i’m alone in shielding apart from my rescue boy. at this point he’s basically a substitute human. i really feel for you x

Mlou32 · 16/04/2020 21:42

I'm sorry for your loss, it must be difficult x

SallyWD · 16/04/2020 21:54

I'm so sorry to hear this. You must be heartbroken. When I lost my cat I felt the strongest grief. It was just like losing a human member of the family. I ached to see her. I couldn't believe she was gone. It's hard because some people don't understand. I'm so sorry for your loss.

nutkin7 · 16/04/2020 22:02

So sorry to hear this FlowersFlowersFlowers

gamerchick · 16/04/2020 22:07

I'm glad other people are questioning it. I don't know about anyone else but I read a post from someone who basically watched their pet deteriorate and when they vanished they assumed they went off to die. When questioned my words were twisted into me asking for proof.

Then people are going there there.

It's like I'm in the twilight zone Hmm the animal probably needs a vet. There's been no mention of seeing one at all. There could still be time.

Brain boggled.

TheEndIsBillNighy · 16/04/2020 22:14

So very sorry. He was a beautiful boy. Thinking of you. X x

Topseyt · 16/04/2020 22:27

I am so sorry. Of course it is a very real loss. Please don't think it is not. Your feelings are very natural, normal and valid.

Pets are family members. Like others here, I know what it feels like to lose them. I had to have my own elderly cat on Christmas morning 2017, and my elderly labrador last November. It is devastating. It really does take time to take it in and accept it.

Your cat was beautiful, and had a wonderful life with you. Be kind to yourself now. Take all the time you need, and please do not feel that it isn't a real loss.

WantToBeMum · 16/04/2020 22:34

I'm so sorry for your loss. Loss of a pet is just as valid to grieve, don't feel bad for feeling it. He looks gorgeous in that photo! Love and best wishes to you.

Youngatheart00 · 16/04/2020 22:39

So sorry to hear of your loss. Cats are such amazing family members and they are all unique personalities. When we lost ours 2 years ago I was totally grief stricken for days and sobbed harder than losing my grandma. It’s hard to explain why. Take your time to remember all the wonderful and funny things he did in better times. If you can, make a little gallery of pics on your phone that you can get printed at some point. Sending love Flowers

Sorry for all those grieving the loss of their cats right now. Losing a cat is always difficult but right now feels especially hard. I did look into fostering kittens, but because of Coronavirus, none of the cat charities near me are doing it sadly.

Sorry if my initial post wasn't clear, I just didn't want to go into the details of his death. Thanks for all the kind words and cuddle your cats for me tonight.

I'm so sorry, he sounds like a lovely cat.

happymum24 · 17/04/2020 10:21

It is absolutely a real loss. My beautiful girl was PTS 6 months ago and it was the most intense grief. He looks gorgeous and although I couldn’t believe it at the time, the ferociousness of the sadness passes and I can now think of how happy she made us. Just such an awful time to experience this.
Sending love x

Hamsterian · 17/04/2020 10:42

I’m sorry for your loss. It’s pure agony when they go.

nutkin7 · 01/06/2020 21:52

I'm so sorry for your loss. Sending flowers Thanks and wine Wine

It sounds like you gave your lovely little cat a wonderful life and if it's any comfort at least you know he's no longer suffering. Look after yourself Thanks
