I had a feeling something wasn't right. And her cheek looked swollen. There is puss coming out of it. I would have taken her to the vet on Saturday as I thought there was so right not quite right, but we had a phone ca instead. Video consultation didn't work. Arghh. I'm on a 12 hour shift tomorrow.

Or because I washed all her bedding and my detergent is quite Strong smelling.I've not seen her in her teepee yet, usually she lives in it.

She's finally realised she's a cat. She is;

  • fighting
  • not sleeping in her bed
  • waking you up
  • climbing on your knee
  • puking on your rug.

I'm sorry - what more evidence do you need? :)

Toddlerteaplease · 18/04/2020 11:34

Ha ha. True. I thought she was back to normal because she came for cuddles overnight. But she keeps going into the wardrobe, and has come down stairs sat in the hall and yowled and is hiding under the sofa bed in the spare room.

I'm imagining her existential crisis.. 'Me? a cat? a cat? ... me? How do I reconcile this with my inner being? What is my inner being? I have not been living a true and authentic life! Hang on, cats don't read philosophy! They don't understand Satre! Meow?'

Toddlerteaplease · 18/04/2020 11:56

GrinGrinactually I suspect it's side effects from
The atropine drops. As it can cause confusion. And she's probably discombobulated from the blurred vision it gives.

Not a cat. A god.
Grin
But then she knew that. Wink

Toddlerteaplease · 18/04/2020 14:03

@YetAnotherSpartacus, I'm not sure there is enough going on in her head, to have an existential crisis.
Relieved that she's in her teepee having a wash.

OH so glad she's ok!!

Lost my 17 year fur baby on Wednesday so was lurking and biting nails and hoping for a speedy recovery.

iklboo · 18/04/2020 14:28

Snorg is turning into Cheddar. She's found her voice, and it's surprisingly loud!! And she's gone really cuddly.

Her Royal Highness has been discharged from the vet. No more treatment required! I've also discovered today, that she likes Hummus.

That’s good news. Obviously she’s reconsidered another near death experience & decided to just keep it low key this time.

Doesn’t hummus have garlic in it?.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/04/2020 20:18

Ha ha yes. Although the vet did say that there is a very tiny possibility of her developing a tumour in her eye. Due to the injury. But he said it's usually more severe injuries and the risk is tiny. I had to stop my self from saying. "But this is Magic, she doesn't do anything by halves"

can you get a couple of extra litter trays and when they have been use d in the house put them outside in the garden and leave them there for a couple of days...

house at the back of us is rented and tenants always seem to have cats who want to investigate and expand their territory so we do this if we see a new catface about and it reinforces our cat boundaries.

If she has been leaking eye jelly I'd be concerned about a retinal detachment...but am not really up on cat eye manufacture...I know human retinas are only attached at the edges and optic nerve so if anything leaks out the retina starts to waft in the breeze as it were

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/04/2020 20:34

Garlics toxic to cats, you might see that hummus again tonight on your carpet.

Mine ate cheese with chives once and threw up.

Toddlerteaplease · 28/04/2020 21:32

@LaurieSchafferIsAllBitterNow I'll try that if the cattery appears frequently. I hadn't seen it for a few weeks. The vet was very happy with her eye, no sign of any lasting damage.

Not sure if it's got garlic in it. I don't like garlic so don't buy anything with it anyway. She only had a time bit on my finger.
