I had a feeling something wasn't right. And her cheek looked swollen. There is puss coming out of it. I would have taken her to the vet on Saturday as I thought there was so right not quite right, but we had a phone ca instead. Video consultation didn't work. Arghh. I'm on a 12 hour shift tomorrow.

How is she coping being in hospital?.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 09:34

She's eaten, I'm amazed. I warned the vet that she's unlikely to eat at the vets as she normally won't. She had a fan club last time she was there a few years ago.

I do hope she’s better and home soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 10:02

She'll be home tomorrow. She's only still there as I'm at work today.

Poor Snorg :( I hope that she gets better soon and realises that being furniture with fur is safer than being a real cat.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 10:27

When I've had temporary house guests. She's been fine with them. Never so much as a growl. But for some reason the local moggies really upset her. She has a chunk missing from her ear when Maia turned on her when an other cat appeared in the garden.

Hope Snorg feels better very soonSmile

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 10:44

So this was Saturday and it wasn't looking to bad then. But what I thought was a tear on her face, was actually the jelly from her eye. Confused

I do wish I'd Been there when they drained the abscess though. Oo the satisfaction!

You should have done podiatry, pus galore. Especially after a corn plaster.

Obv healing them up is the objective but it’s a fun filled journey.

Don't do adult feet!

Brave Snorg!

TheSecondMrsAshwell · 14/04/2020 12:13

Isn't it always the way? Ashycat has a genius for needing the vet when I am least able to take her. I was in a play once, the lead, so if I didn't turn up, there was no-one to take my place and we'd lose a whole night (out of 3) and she decided to do the dance of the dying pussy at 3pm. Managed to get her to the vet (thanks to the minicab drivers taking corners on 2 wheels) and to the theatre, but it was by the skin of my teeth.

Cats. Ya gotta love 'em.

Healing mews, Snorg.

ClientQ · 14/04/2020 13:19

Oh yes. If they can manage when you have somewhere important to be, it's out of hours, your car has broken down... even better the middle of the night
My horse once did a great impression of being on 3 legs before an important training session. Put her back in the field and watched as she merrily cantered away perfectly on 4 legs to join her mates

Nasty intruder cat! Glad she's doing ok and behaving for her slaves at the vets.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 13:42

I spoke to the staff at the cattery, who love her and they were amazed that she was even in a fight! They aren't the only ones!!

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 16:09

Apparently she's comfortable and being very good with her eyedrops. They are concerned that she's not eating. I did prewarn the vet that she wouldn't eat. They are going to offer her prawns and chicken! Doubt she'll eat them!

I completely agree. My old boy (no longer with us) always seemed to fall ill on bank holidays so we had to drive 20 miles to the emergency vet.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/04/2020 18:08

Yes. Had it with Maia. She got her jaw stuck open on holy Saturday a couple of years ago. So had to canal my trip away!

Oh bless her, Harry and I send love and purrs.

@ClientQ Harry did similar a couple of years ago. It was Christmas Eve and typically a Sunday and he was limping so badly we thought he'd broken his leg. We took him to the out of hours vet who couldn't find a great deal wrong so put him on the floor to see him walk. The little sod brave little soldier jumped back up onto the vets table and I paid nearly £200 to find out he was fine!

Toddlerteaplease · 15/04/2020 07:27

The vet just phoned. She's very bright and eating well and enjoying fuss. We've agreed that she'll stay in again tonight As I'm on a night shift tonight, and she won't be able to get all the doses of antibiotic eye drops in otherwise. I really want her home. But I'd rather she gets the treatment she needs as her eye is still at risk. I'll pick her up
Tomorrow and the vet will see her again on Friday. I'm on nights over the weekend. But hopefully by then one missed dose won't make a difference.
I'm tempted to take her to work and put her in a cot, as it's her eye, she would fall within our remit!

OP posts:
Fluffycloudland77 · 15/04/2020 07:39

But the other patients wouldn’t get any attention then, you’d have half the team around one cot. I’m so glad she’s eating now. She’s becoming a proper cat, doing the opposite of what you expect her to do. I wonder if she heard you telling them she wouldn’t eat?.

@ClientQ I did smile at the thought of your horse faking it to get out of work. She pulled a sicky.

Wolfiefan · 15/04/2020 07:49

Oh bless her. I hope she’s back really soon.

Toddlerteaplease · 15/04/2020 09:50

Yes. I really want her back. But I was a bit uncomfortable about leaving her completely alone overnight tonight. Usually my parents would come and cat sit, as they be done before. But obviously that's not an option. Bloody Carona. This wouldn't have happened if it wasn't for that, as she'd have been In the cattery last Friday!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 15/04/2020 11:04

But the other patients wouldn’t get any attention then

The other patients would be fighting for cuddles!

All the best Snorg dear! Probably best to leave the fighting to more experienced cats :)
