We first saw her in garden last weekend but she just wandered through.
Then she came on Christmas eve and was friendly, adult DC stroked her. Our cat hissed at her through window., she cried for over an hour but we went out and went next door who run a dog hotel was scared off when dogs went out.
Today she is back and still here crying at the door, we finally gave in and fed her this evening, but cant let her on because of our cat, but given her shelter outside.
Going to take her to vets tomorrow to see if she is chipped, and put picture up on local Facebook.
She is gorgeous and looks in good condition , very fluffy.
What else can we do,? I would keep her if she got on with our own cat.

You could try putting a paper collar on her, either download a template from Cats Protection or make one of your own. www.cats.org.uk/media/1283/com_1032_lost_and_found_collar_print_out_aw.pdf

Lindy2 · 26/12/2019 19:15

I agree that a paper collar would be a good idea. If she goes home and her owner sees it, you'll know she has a home. It's possible her owners are away over Christmas and she's looking for company.

I hope she is ok. I'd have fed her too in that situation.

Fluffycloudland77 · 26/12/2019 19:30

I’d have done the same.

bruffin · 26/12/2019 19:44

Thanks collar idea is good
She is still here, up against door crying to come in. She was very hungry and looks quite young so may have got lost.
Dh thought he heard calling from houses at back, but they are 300 ft gardens so quite a way away.

Have you got a room you could shut her in with a litter tray that wouldn’t upset your cat .

pinkyredrose · 26/12/2019 19:50

Could you go door knocking with a pic of her on your phone?

bruffin · 26/12/2019 19:54

Yes I'm going to do the door knocking in a minute.

Put her in the spare room? I bet she’s got herself lost.

Daisydoola · 26/12/2019 20:06

I hope she is claimed.

WireBrushAndDettolMaam · 26/12/2019 20:12

I’m wondering if someone has gone away for Xmas thinking she was in the house to be checked on by a cat sitter. (or maybe not caring that she wasn’t in!) and she’s been locked out now.

GreenGrove · 26/12/2019 20:14

Can't you put her in a different too to your cat until you find another resolution?

GreenGrove · 26/12/2019 20:15

Do you have a local Facebook lost and found cats page? There are people who have scanners to check for a microchip on my local page. Might be worth a try.

Ffsnosexallowed · 26/12/2019 20:18

You don't live in n ireland do you? My mum's kitten had gone missing 😢

bruffin · 26/12/2019 20:43

No sorry not NI
Been round the road that backs on to us. Luckily first house I tried said not ours but probably next doors . Dh says sounds like where call was coming from.
Unfortunately they have electronic gates and nobody answering buzzer and nowhere to leave note.
But cat now has finally gone. She was so persistent which is why we worried.
At least we know where she lives now if she comes back.

It sounds like it could be a ragdoll. Very fluffy and friendly- they’re generally house cats which makes me think she could have got out. They’re not streetwise at all. They’re usually chipped if there’s anyway you could get it scanned. It’s owners are probably really worried if it is a ragdoll cat. Hope it manages to get home.

Shesaysso · 26/12/2019 20:44

Ah just seen your update - fingers crossed.

bruffin · 27/12/2019 11:12

She was back this morning.
I went round to the house and she wasn't theirs
I took her to vet, she pooped all over basket. She is not chipped, probably about 2 years. She was starving this morning.
I've also put her on lost and found pet website
We are going to put the paper coller on her and see what happens.

🤦🏻‍♀️

God I wish they’d make this compulsory.

Beamur · 27/12/2019 11:27

Owners may be away - a couple of summers ago we had a persistent visiting cat. Turned out it lived nearby but didn't like the cat sitter. When owners came back it went home.
They must use a different sitter now as it didn't come back again!

bruffin · 27/12/2019 14:02

She is such a lovely little cat. DH had to clean her tail and she was as good as gold.

We are not letting her in but she is content to sit by back door or under Bush and given her some dry to go.

@bruffin ah, you and your family are doing so well to welcome and take care of her... checking for a chip etc.

She seems so gentle, I think she might have found a new loving home.
On approval of the other cats of course Wink

Update

She is still with us, no one has come forward at all, cant find any posts about lost cats locally that fit her description either.

We are all very fond of her but worried about our cat, we are taking it very slowly swapping scents etc

Littleun as she has been nicknamed is living in the garage atm, she is allowed occasionally in the house and outside for most of the day, but get into the garage for warmth etc. We swap her and our cat over for turns in the garden.
She does seem very hungry , our cat is a grazer and eats food throughout the day. Littleun she clears the plate in seconds, then wants more. Not sure if we keep her if she is just going to eat all of Rosies food
