Would anyone like to swop cats?
I didn’t get to bed till 2.30 as Matt was on next doors garage roof. Previously he could get into my bedroom window from there but dd somehow broke the catch a few weeks ago and it’s jammed shut. The garden is admittedly rather overgrown which put him off jumping down. For a bright cat it took several hours of me out in the rain in my dressing gown rattling dreamies before he managed to eventually half slither and half fall into the undergrowth. I then had a very damp cat rocking the bed with his ablutions before we got to sleep. Then was woken by a paw with claws tapping me on the face this morning. Angry

Papergirl1968 Top Prize for Naughtiest Cat 2019.

You must be shattered, furious and still sodden. I have no doubt Matt is cheerful, warm, and thoroughly well rested.

I was woken at 5.30am by O slithering his head across me. Scenting me apparently. Then settled down on my pillow with his bum in my face. Not comfy. Back to scenting the human. I gave up and got up at 6am Angry

He's labelling you before you get up & go out in case a tom cat sees you on the bus, thinks you're Lost Property, and hands you in or takes you home.

I'm surprised he hasn't texted you his number & handed you a cheap paygo phone.

No need Grin I am still tonsillitis infected Envy
Maybe he's trying to cure me?

Papergirl1968 · 20/07/2019 18:36

Ha! Matt has snoozed all day, Lana, while I’ve felt like hell.
Dd has a friend round but once she’s gone it will be an early night for us (hopefully)

I took a dead mouse off a previous cat and when I came back he was dragging my sandwich off the plate.

Supersimpkin · 21/07/2019 21:12

Classy. You've always been blessed with the 'lively' pets haven't you.

Is there any other variety though?. Even Matts disgraced himself this week.

Naughty Ollie!
Is that a sob or a gasp of outrage we can hear on the video?!

YesQueen · 21/07/2019 21:40

That was me trying to stifle a laugh unsuccessfully Grin

Guiltypleasures001 · 22/07/2019 01:10

Dh was carrying a tele down our stairs today, only to be met with our cat on her way up them, with a bird in her mouth yet again.

Luckily cat and bird were separated, and bird was able to escape, now can't have any windows open here, which is great with a heatwave this week.

Allergictoironing · 22/07/2019 08:44

Flatcats are your friend in summer Grin

Supersimpkin · 22/07/2019 09:00

You know what Guilty, windows closed will do you a favour as it'll keep the house cooler. Well done to the Fur Fighter for the bird and double well done for letting bird go.

Triple well done to DH for not dropping the telly.

3 fans, an air purifier and a dehumidifier set up for heatwave and Mr C's delicate chest. He took one look and kipped on my head all night.

Do you think we can blame climate change for the wave of naughtiness sweeping through our beloved kitties?

It can't possibly be their personalities Grin

Weezolcat actually behaves quite well in hot weather. Too much warms for 'wallop the mama' apparently.

I use a lot more plasters when it's cold. I think she runs on a similar principle to the trolls in Sir PTerry's Discworld.

Supersimpkin · 22/07/2019 09:35

Killer heat does have ONE advantage. Weezolcat may recline in stately elegance. You may have a full blood count for a short while.

The poor vet's van is keeping going all this week - 37 C in London and has round trip on 41 C Thursday to Oxford to collect a poorly stoat.

How and where is Ernie these days?

YesQueen · 22/07/2019 15:16

Ollie has returned home after a 2hr nap in the neighbours garden. Full of sticky burrs and a face of "oh no human, you will have to brush me** LOTS" Hmm

Allergictoironing · 22/07/2019 19:08

I have 2 VERY unhappy cats today.

My ex-boss, who is a good mate & a cat person himself, had a client near me so dropped in for a cuppa on his way home. I spotted him coming up to the front door, scooped Girlcat up and opened the door to him with an armful of unimpressed cat. She didn't get upset when he stroked her & scritched behind her ears, but stalked upstairs qith a disgusted look on her face when I put her down.

Just before ex-boss left he went up to the loo so I scooped Boycat out of the bottom of the wardrobe to show him - note to self, don't do that again with torn shoulder tendons! Poor Boycat fled downstairs & behind the sofa as soon as I released him, & didn't come out for a couple of hours. Girlcat semi forgave me when I fed her chicken.

Weezol · 23/07/2019 10:10

Dear lord, you brought Other People in to the house without prior notice. I admire your gung-ho recklessness but urge caution in future.

Allergictoironing · 23/07/2019 11:08

Worst than just bringing Other People in the house - Picking Up is on the banned list, so is Carrying. Then we get on to Letting Strange Person Touch Them.....
