He has swallowed about a metre of ribbon. Probably last night. He's been acting strange all day, but just coughed up about 30cm of the ribbon.
My poor baby. I'm at home because the kids are in bed.

Oh no. Poor boy. I hope you're insured.

ReaganSomerset · 29/01/2019 23:19

I'm sure he'll be fine, don't worry. Animals swallow weird things all the time. Flowers

JollyGiraffe · 29/01/2019 23:20

Oh no Sad what's his name?

Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. Good he's managed to cough some up

Vinorosso74 · 29/01/2019 23:20

Poor cat (and you and your DH). Hopefully he's coughed it all up and there's no other issues.

Choccywoccyhooha · 29/01/2019 23:26

Thank you so much. His name is Sidney, he's a ragdoll. He will be three on Friday.

Oh Sidney that wasn't a great plan but then if your anything like our old Ragdoll you're not the brightest! 🤞 for a speedy recovery.

hirstprint · 29/01/2019 23:38

Speedy recovery kitty.

WhoaBettyWhite · 29/01/2019 23:39

Everything crossed for you OPThanks

HesterShaw21 · 29/01/2019 23:53

Thanks Hope they're able to help him. Is he insured?

Our cat is a chewer, especially anything long like wire, ribbon, USB cords. She chewed through wiring connected to the boiler and managed to kill power and heating in the whole house last winter. She has cat grass and nibbles on our spider plant, but still ends up gnawing off stuff, like the bit of leather 'tail' on her mouse toy, or the corners off our rattan clothes hampers.

hirstprint · 29/01/2019 23:55

Any news? Did the vet say what he would do?

joangray38 · 29/01/2019 23:56

Hope he is okay. Please keep us updated.

Choccywoccyhooha · 30/01/2019 00:01

He is being x rayed, they think they are going to operate tonight. They think we've caught it quickly enough.

Fingers crossed for Silly Sid! 🤞🏻Thanks

Choccywoccyhooha · 30/01/2019 00:02

We've only had him 3 months and hadn't got round to insuring him. It's looking like a two-grand job, but we wil borrow the money/put it on a credit card.

Thinking of you. Hope Sidney is ok. Lucky you noticed his odd behaviour. Will check yr thread in the morning. Hope you get some sleep.

notapizzaeater · 30/01/2019 00:05

NowYouHaveDoneIt · 30/01/2019 00:05

So adorable!! Best wishes for the surgery, keep us updated.

Honeyroar · 30/01/2019 00:06

He’s lovely. Good luck Sydney. He’s young and strong, hopefully he will be fine.

hirstprint · 30/01/2019 00:08

Gosh he’s gorgeous.

Choccywoccyhooha · 30/01/2019 00:10

Oh Sidney you silly billy!

He's gorgeous bless him. My fingers are crossed everything goes well. Our 6 month old kitten ate a hairband almost whole and we looked on in horror but it bizarrely came out the other end and she wasn't at all bothered. Cats do the strangest things

Choccywoccyhooha · 30/01/2019 07:58

They operated there and then last night. We haven't had a call to say the have been complications so I assume everything has gone okay. Waiting for the vets to open so we can call them.
