Don't laugh!
Poor Obie is really matted again..usually he doesn't matt up til spring but his coat is astoundingly thick and he won't let any of his wives groom him (that's me and the other two women he frequents) I am going to have to book him in for a sedated shave ..I don't think they have any hope of just grooming it under sedation.
But it's winter... do you think I could possibly put a cat (or rather dog as he's 25 pounds) coat on him for the first week or so? I don't want him shivering but he will NOT stay in. Has anyone ever tried?
(and yes I'd post pics....)

We used to have exactly the same situation with our cat, he wouldn't groom (and wouldn't let us) and would get matted so we had to have him shaved. He would be bald except for a black furry head and black furry legs he did look a sight bless him.
We would always try and do it during summer so he didn't get cold but one year we had to do it in autumn so dh bought him a fleecey coat to wear.
He wasn't keen and would only walk backwards in it for some reason

Spartacus... you are welcome to him.. (and the £270 bill they are charging me!!) I am changing vets when I no longer have Portia as I am very peed off with this new franchise !
