Anyone else really love their cat?

I mean, I love my kids & family...but my god I love my cat! He’s so cuddly and fluffy, always by my side and is just my best friend tbh. Sounds sad but there you go.

Might be a daft question on this board, but does anyone else really, REALLY love their cat?

I love my cats and frequently tell them so. Sometimes I just stare at them filled with love. I've caught DP doing it too. I run an Instagram account on their behalf where they comment on their silly humans' activities. It has significantly more followers than my actual human Instagram Blush

InfiniteVariety Thank you so much. I love my wee cat. She sleeps beside me every night and is such a comfort.

I love all cats, but of course I love my own cats most!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 17/09/2018 18:40

I love my Leroy so, so much 😁.
He's completely bonkers, but when he cuddles, or meows at me for something, or just settles down next to me.... 😻.

I love him almost as much as my old boy Harley. I loved that cat so bloody much I had a Cuddle Clone made when he died.

RickOShay · 18/09/2018 22:49

I love my cats. I love my dog. In the mornings it’s just us, I feed them, make myself a coffee and they come and sit down with me while I drink it, it’s the best part of the day.
I feel so lucky to have them.

I'm allergic to cats and asthmatic but take antihistamines etc to manage as I do love them. Still miss my last one, a female who died aged 9 from unknown toxin (possibly pollen from lilies).
Our dear boy is nutty, very vocal and loving, gentle with kids and a great ratter. Like OP he throws himself to floor for attention and a tummy rub at every opportunity Smile

But it's also sad how many people seem to hate cats. I get the concerns about wildlife and I think we all have to be responsible about that and do what we can, but I think some people don't really see them as creatures that are capable of forming loving bonds who will be your friend for life.
When our boy went missing (18 days shut in a shed! Came out skeletal and would have died but for access to limited water but that's another story) but before he was found a local told me that she'd seen a bloke with an air gun in his back garden aiming at cats. She'd even seen a stray she fed with a wound. I struggle to believe people can be so cruel, but on the upside whenever we have had a cat go missing there has always been a good community response to pleas for info on the posters we put up. It's amazing how many human acquaintances they manage to make (no doubt charming them in exchange for treats).

What beautiful cats you all have! I miss mine so much. Here she is sitting on DD's nice clean flannel...

I totally love my two cats.

I hate cats until 8 years ago when the kids wore me down and I relented. Got them from the rspca at 8 weeks (they had been dumped down a drain With out their mother).

I can't get over how much I miss them when I go away and how much my heart melts when they 'speak' to me.

But they are still just cats. Ungrateful little shits.

Malibucyprus · 19/09/2018 17:12

I absolutely adore my cat!! She’s my baby girl, I do have 2 human baby girls, but they don’t curl up on my lap much knowadays, and they certainly don’t look at me the way my cat does Grin

I’ve had words with my cat, and we’ve agreed that she’s going to live until she’s 30+ I can’t imagine my life without her, she’s such a character, so loving, yet stubborn and feisty. I’m addicted to her Blush

Malibucyprus · 19/09/2018 17:13

Oh and here’s a few pics of her

I love my cat to bits. She tolerates my DP but is my shadow. I'm on holiday with friends at the moment but I'm insisting DP sends me pictures and updates of her everyday

Jb291 · 19/09/2018 17:41

No kids and not bothered about ever having any. I absolutely adore my three fur bundles of fluff though. They are such affectionate and happy little creatures and unconditionally loving and gentle. Daily cuddles and petting of beautiful fur is a daily requirement. I'm frequently sat down and have one on my lap bunting his or her head against my chin and trilling happily

Sakura7 · 19/09/2018 17:50

Adore my little old lady. She's 17 and we got her back when I was a teenager, then after I moved out I brought her with me. She was a bit of a nutcase in her younger days but is the sweetest cat in the world now. DP is also smitten with her. She loves to sit on your lap, climb up towards your shoulders and headbutt you in the face (in a friendly way!). I was devastated a few months ago when I found out she has kidney disease but it seems to be progressing very slowly which is good. Don't know what I'll do when she's gone, she's been there my whole adult life :(

ifonly4 · 19/09/2018 17:54

I loved my two cats (no longer have them but they were a good age). I'd have done anything for them and still miss them. I've recently got two new boys and keep telling myself not love them and worry about them so much, but it's not going to happen is it? One keeps going all squishy on me, the other is smaller, more astute and just seems to need me.

Rockbird · 19/09/2018 18:05

I'm a bit scared now. Getting kittens on Friday and worried I won't love them. Don't get me wrong, I've been desperate for cats my whole life and can't wait till they come, but what if I'm just meh about them? Confused What if I don't feel that rush of love?

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 19/09/2018 18:30

Ok I want all these cats 😻😻 they are gorgeous and I’ve loved hearing your little stories about them!
There really is something special about the bond you make with a cat isn’t there.

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 19/09/2018 18:32

Don’t worry Rock it might not be instant but it will grow over time. You can’t expect to bond overnight but give it a year, you’ll look back and think how did I ever survive without these little toe rags!

Love my girls!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 19/09/2018 18:37

I love her very much because:

She's chatty.
She's funny.
She's cuddly.
She's cute.
She's silly.
She LOVES me sooo much more than everyone else.

But..
She wakes me up early in the morning & sometimes in the night just because.

She bloody jumps up on the kitchen surfaces ALL THE TIME. Even though she totes knows that she's not allowed to.

She will lick the butter & the marmite if I leave them out.

She's really fucking annoying but I love her sooo much 🙄🙄🙄 go figure! 😼😼😼😻😻😻

Jonsnowsghost · 19/09/2018 18:43

Thought he'd be a ragdoll from the description Grin (he is, right??)
I have one too and he is the actual best, I talk about him all the time and am always showing him off. It's just me and him at home so we have the best time!
