Anyone else really love their cat?

I mean, I love my kids & family...but my god I love my cat! He’s so cuddly and fluffy, always by my side and is just my best friend tbh. Sounds sad but there you go.

Might be a daft question on this board, but does anyone else really, REALLY love their cat?

I frequently tell people that I love my cat so much that my heart hurts Blush

He is my fave thing in the world. He does the greatest cuddles in the world, he chases present mice and little balls, he likes to be with you alllllllllll the time, he's sometimes very crabby and occasionally will bite but I lurve him.

I love my sweet kitty babies, but my big boy has a special place in my heart. I just adore him.

Should dp and I ever get married, we're doing at home, with the cats. We (the cats and I) have been discussing this idea. We're not having a sweet cart, but we are having a dreamies cart, so guests can give them treats.

I'm due my first child shortly and spend my days telling the cat how he'll always be my first baby and how much I love him. I love the other one just as much but he's not as cuddly to sit and talk to all day. Cuddly cat always knows exactly what I need and is especially cuddly and clingy if I'm sad for any reason ❤

I loved her to death (quite literally).

She was my little twirly whirly tiny beautiful bright little ballerina cat who did downward dog yoga poses. She drove me mad at moments, mind, and smashed the china.

I held her paw as we were waiting for pts to kick in.

Allergictoironing · 17/09/2018 08:32

I still sometimes catch my breath when I see my pair - so beautiful, so elegant and graceful (well, Girlcat is anyway), so sleek and glossy, so magnificent.... I could go on and on.

I actually owe my life to Boycat, he pulled me back from the brink by just being him. Every day I love them more & more.

Papergirl1968 · 17/09/2018 08:38

Matt makes my heart melt.
We’ve had lovely snuggles all night, and he comforts me and makes me laugh.
I love his warm velvet ears, his long, strong paws, his pink toe beans, his white socks, his fluffy tummy...I could go on.
I tell him I love him all the time and from the way he gazes back at me sometimes, I know he loves me too (admittedly there are other times when his face shows he just wants feeding!).
I can’t bear the thought of him not being around.

Yes, cats exist to be loved. My Betty was hit by a car and killed a month ago and I was devastated. I love her so much, can't bring myself to say it in the past tense. She brightened up every day and I think of her every now to keep her spirit alive. I will get another cat once I have an escape-proof house as I would not let another cat have to contend with the road; feel so guilty that I naively thought my cat was road-savvy even after she was injured by a car once before and survived (ridiculously I credited her with too much intelligence and thought she would be more careful). I know I can love another cat as much, but not in the same way, and she will never be replaced. Hope yours lives a long and happy life with you ❤

My girls are my babies. They are spoilt rotten and their every whim is indulged. Lost darling Fatty last month but Cheddar has fitted in nicely and is a total contest to her which is what I needed. Snorg is just amazing and (sadly for me) has blossomed since her diva of a sister died. She's doing things that Fatty used to do which is bitter sweet as they are fairly identical.

When I was leaving my previous employment (after 3 years) DS1 happened to come into the office for one day in my last week. One of my colleagues turned to me and asked how come she knew the names of my cats, had seen pictures of them, knew what they got up to on a day to day basis, but I had never mentioned that I had children Grin.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2018 15:24

It obviously wasn't at the forefront of your mind Grumpy Grin

How many children had you neglected to mention?

Freyanna · 17/09/2018 15:42

YesSheCan So sorry to hear about Betty. Flowers

Grumpyoldpersonwithcats · 17/09/2018 15:43

Just the two.

flapjackfairy · 17/09/2018 15:43

I hope i am right in thinking that this thread is somewhat tongue in cheek and that nobody is seriously suggesting that their cat is more important than their child ?

HoraceWimpIsThisYourLife · 17/09/2018 16:02

Oh all these lovely cats 😻 glad I am not alone! It’s funny how much love we can get from these fussy, furry little things.

Sorry to those who have loved and lost. We lost our Nige last year after he was hit by a car, I cried for days. We all did.

This one has helped fill that space though. He’s just so bloody lovely.

flapjack of course I adore my children and dote on them.
I have the same maternal love for my cat but the relationship is so much easier as he’s just a little cat!

I love my cat so much sometimes it scares me sometimes! He is the first pet I’ve had responsibility for as an adult on my own- I always said I was a dog person and wasn’t keen on cats but now I wouldn’t be without him . And I fully empathise with the previous poster who said her phone was full of cat pictures 😺😺😺

theunsure · 17/09/2018 16:28

We have 3

They are just wonderful - I love them all to the moon and back.
I can't imagine life without them - I have always had at least 1 cat since I was born (most of the time more than 1). I am from a car crazy family and fortunately DH is also cat mad.

I am also like this with my horse and chickens though too - they are all family.

Oldraver · 17/09/2018 16:55

I ve had cts all my life but never really loved one a much as Ern reckon it's menopausel

Even OH has taken to talking to him on the phone and we have taken to talking about the cat far too frequently

Freyanna · 17/09/2018 17:56

InfiniteVariety · 17/09/2018 18:00

More than life itself!

Whenever I'm driving home I am always looking forward to seeing him. And when we go away on holiday, on the journey back I am always ridiculously excited at the thought of being reunited with him.

(I have a DH and DCs too.... Blush)

InfiniteVariety · 17/09/2018 18:01

Freyanna she is beautiful - what a lovely face

jadeywadeyyox · 17/09/2018 18:23

I have 2 cats.
A boy called Bear, and a girl called Pepsi.
I LOVVEEE Bear, he's the most perfect lil muffin I absolutely adore him.
I haaate Pepsi. I hate her.
Everything she does annoys me.
But I hate her mostly because she poops EVERYWHERE then walks in it and trails it all over the floors (and I'm pregnant so I shouldn't be having to clean that), and she always steals Bears and my sons good from under them.

YesSheCan · 17/09/2018 18:31

Thanks Freyanna. Ski37 I loved mine so much it scared me too, and I still love her. Those who say hope you don't seriously love your cat more tham your kid, no, of course not, but you can love a pet in a different way from how you love your kids. I'm sure my DD would not appreciate me calling her Boo Boos adoringly or nuzzling my head against her tummy to hear her purring (well, DD doesn't purr) or give her head rubs and it would be a bit odd for me to do that, but my cat absolutely loved it. She brightened up my day in a way you can't and shouldn't expect your kids to do. As I type this, a skinny black kitten from the farm up the road has just tiptoes in through the back door of the holiday rental where we're staying til my house purchase goes through. He/she was shy and ran off but I may go and investigate!
