Hi all,

I have a 4 month old tabby kitten called Ellie (tortie sister called Esme), and she's been very shy until yesterday when she wanted to play and purr and snuggle. First time for her, yet her sister is the opposite and won't leave me alone. I'm so happy she's finally mellowing, so thought I'd start a tabby appreciation thread Smile

This is Ellie.

My giant softie! His name is Taby.(original, I know!) He came to us as a stray who was badly injured. Had huge holes in the muscle of his front legs like chunks missing. We trapped him took him to vet and he doesen't have a mark on him now to tell the story. Amazing how the cats heal! He didn't leave us since and made our life more beautifull. Always comes to his goodnight cuddles and purrs on us untill he decides he had enough and goes on the windowsill to sleep. His sister is a black and white bi....diva entitled and spoilt! Had her since baby. You can clearly see in the behaviour differences how he had a harsh life and she never had to go without. Love them both so much though I love a cat thread!

This is Dr Spookymuffin - officially our cat as of yesterday. Found her as a stray 4 weeks ago, not spayed, no microchip.....tried lots of ways to find where she came from but no luck.

Anyhoo, she's ours now and we couldn't be happier! Smile

Poppy, how old is Moss? She looks like a baby. I’ve come over all kitten broody!

YesSheCan · 11/08/2018 23:59

My beautiful girl, who we lost last week to a road accident. Absolutely heartbroken. She was the dearest, loveliest cat. Your photos are all lovely

Yes, Mr Cooper is so daft and docile. He was feral until I took him in 7 years ago, and he's got a lovely life now.

Lynne1Cat · 12/08/2018 00:04

YesSheCan... so sorry. It's horrible when a beloved pet dies. They are part of the family, and it is so upsetting. x

Ginkypig · 12/08/2018 01:06

This is my old girl, she's quite ill now she's quite near the end if I'm honest but she has given me 15 years of pure unadulterated joy! She has the sweetest personality and until she fell ill had never given me any trouble she's always been a really good cat.

She is technically a rescue as if I hadn't taken her the "owner" was threatening to drown the litter.
She was the only black and the only long haired kitten in the whole litter. She was the runt of the litter and No one else wanted her but I fell in love

The light bit on her chest is actually her undercoat but you can see it because she had to be shaved AGAIN for a blood test. Normally she is pure black.

In fact I'd go so far as to say (father ted reference warning) priest black [ grin]

Ginkypig · 12/08/2018 01:09

Iv literally just noticed the word tabby Blush

Ah screw it my girl is beautiful your all lucky to get to see her! Grin

ScreamingValenta · 12/08/2018 01:18

@Ginkypig She's absolutely lovely! My 18 year old black boy is currently sporting a blood-test shaven patch too (thyroid troubles). He's a shorthair, so it should grow back soon. Hoping your girlie's health is getting better Flowers.

Ginkypig · 12/08/2018 14:39

Aw thankyou @screamingvalenta she has thyroid troubles too amongst other things.

She's half bald at the mo due to blood tests, heart rate measure, intestinal/kidney scans etc

She's doing ok considering her health issues but she's never going to recover, I'm just keeping her as healthy and happy as I can until there's nothing else to do, then when it's time I'll do what needs done for her. She is my lovely, beautiful friend, who has graced me with her love!

Hmmingbird · 12/08/2018 22:17

Love all of these!!

Seems mine is a complete poser Grin
