Earlier this evening, I found the banana down in the ground floor hall. (It must have been biffed there.) Smile

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 09:38

Yes, Mr C does banana for a bit, only for a short while, and then leaves it for a good few hours.

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 20:26

How is everyone tonight?

Allergictoironing · 02/05/2018 22:10

Don't ask! Lost my job today, then went to the pain clinic & though I am being referred for the spinal injections it will be about a 3 month wait. At least they are writing to my GP to up the dosage of co-codamol. But the kitties are being quite smoochy tonight, which helps.

cozietoesie · 02/05/2018 22:32

Your GP needs a note??Grin

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 22:48

So sorry allergic. Cocpdamol OTC at boots. Here furry support.

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 22:50

Phone rubbish.

cozietoesie · 02/05/2018 22:55

Boots only sell 8s OTC. (I believe. Wink)

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 23:22

That's only enough for a day. Bah. Better than 0 tho'.

cozietoesie · 02/05/2018 23:24

Sorry. 8/500 in packs of 32.

LanaorAna2 · 02/05/2018 23:25

Ok, says online you can get Boots Pharmaceuticals Paracetamol & Codeine - 32 Effervescent Tablets (Co-Codamol) if you buy their own brand. Fizzy ones work quicker.

Read more at www.boots.com/boots-pharmaceuticals-paracetamol-codeine-32-effervescent-tablets-co-codamol#OPkmslPw8XiPQ9fV.99

cozietoesie · 02/05/2018 23:30

Fizzy ones work more quickly but are more expensive. Take ordinary tablets with a hot drink if you need them to cut in fast. Wink

cozietoesie · 03/05/2018 00:36

I must have done something to LWT2. He keeps coming to it, mouthing off and then stalking away. (Maybe he doesn't like fabric conditioner?)

Fluffycloudland77 · 03/05/2018 07:37

Oh Allergic I’m so sorry. What a kick in the teeth for you.

Allergictoironing · 03/05/2018 08:50

I'm already taking the 15/500s of Co-codamol which is prescription strength only. He's recommending we go up to the 30/500 which is the max you can get. Can't really just take loads of the lower strength tabs because you end up ODing on the paracetamol - last thing I need is for my liver to pack in from paracetamol overdose! Next step will be Tramadol if this doesn't help, but I'm wary as I know with some people it can make them go a bit spaced.

I have regular battles with the GP over the NSAIDs I take as it is. They keep trying to put me on Naproxen (which barely touches it) instead of Diclofenac (which does have some effect).

Apparently the arthritis is considered as "quite advanced for your age" now, and he offered the injections without having to be prompted. It's just the 3 month wait before we can even try to see if that works for me Sad

Sorry to ramble on, in a kitty thread. Just feeling pretty low this morning & feeling weird I'm not at work.

LanaorAna2 · 03/05/2018 09:25

Allergic if it's any help, every single person I know who lost their job went on to something better. I'm not just saying stuff off a cat poster either.

You're probably feeling awful, it's a horrible thing for you to have to cope with. Very tough. But...let's be honest, apart from the money, a rest is no bad thing for any of us, especially given your current pain woes.

Make the most of the time you have off, but give yourself time to get over the shock first. The kitties will LOVE you being at home, so there's one big plus.

I don't know if this works with arthritis, so ignore me if nec, but when I lost my job I did a big supermarket shop and holed up at home with Mr C for a few days to watch TV and sleep off the stress. The shopping was catfood and chocolate, as I recall.

LanaorAna2 · 03/05/2018 09:41

C does PB stand for Primadonna Boy? Little lad seems to be feeling a touch...specific Grin

Mr C kicked off like mad when I febrezed his patch on the sofa, he doesn't like me hoovering off the enough-to-knit-a-new-cat fur either. Stick a jumper that smells of you in LWT, maybe. It will be greeted with disdain until you turn round and see PB snoring on it.

Allergictoironing · 03/05/2018 09:45

I have chocolate, and an Asda order due for delivery tonight Grin including extra Webbox sticks and ICE CREAM (raspberry pavlova). I had a Zooplus order not too long ago & well stocked cupboards anyway. I intend to do nothing at all for the rest of this week bar TV, PC, Boycat cuddling, seeing my Chiropractor tomorrow, and eating. Then next week I will see if I can get my GP to sign me off so at least I can get ESA rather than the horrific pressure they put you under with JSA.

Boycat will probably get sensory overload from all the tummy stroking & head scritchings, but he can cope Wink

LanaorAna2 · 03/05/2018 10:01

That is a Deeply Impressive Plan! Sounds rather nice, as it happens.

Apply for PIP as well, it's not means tested and the ££ while not much to write home about pays for the odd cab and DIY man.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 03/05/2018 10:14

I'm so sorry to hear your news Allergic - but glad that you are taking care of yourself. Flowers.
