What a handsome gentleman.

Weezol · 26/04/2018 22:04

Ghetto I'm a little worried that he's taken such a long time to feel relaxed in his new home - it looks like it took well over 10 seconds. Grin

InTheGhetto · 26/04/2018 23:02

DH’s hand is good for cuddling.

DH seems quite smitten! Wink

cozietoesie · 26/04/2018 23:17

As compared to PB who has been here for 10 months? Grin

Allergictoironing · 27/04/2018 07:38

Remember it took Boycat well over a year before I could touch him without him running away hysterically to hide in the wardrobe.

I'm off sick with my back seriously playing up, and he loves that because it means I go to bed at least 3 times a day to lie on my back with my legs up - which means he gets loads of extra bed cuddles. And extra sofa cuddles. And he can gaze at me adoringly, though he doesn't like that I have to get up & stretch at least once an hour.

Ollivander84 · 27/04/2018 07:47

O seemed to decide I was his human within 10 minutes. He had a gaze around and went "home? Ok then" and sat on me Grin

Has everyone seen Each's 'One thing after another' thread? Not cat related, but Each is very unwell. :(

LanaorAna2 · 27/04/2018 09:45

When Mr C came I dumped him on the bed and got in, light out, kiss on head. We were both so knackered we passed out from the excitement and woke up in the same position in the morning.

He was terrified about cuddling at first but now he loves it. Woe betide me if I don't do the kiss after the lights out either. I have never missed one.

Take it easy Allergic, let furry Nurse Boycat set your recovery agenda, always best in the paws of the experts.

TheLongRider · 27/04/2018 10:10

Well LongGirlCat finally spent the whole night on her human's bed. She kindly waited until our alarm went off before kicking the door in and looking for praise the she had been so good!

Nurse Boycat is keeping me sane. I HATE missing work, and i only started this job 4 months ago. Self inflicted as well in a way - 7 hour drive (plus stops) Friday before last, wedding the next day, 5 hours drive back on the Sunday (plus stops) and it's just got worse every day since.

Ah well, pain clinic on Wednesday next week. Must gird my loins for the inevitable battle for them to bloody well DO something. GP keeps trying to change me off the painkillers that help, he's keeping my Co-codamol down at minimal dosage. Last time I went to a pain clinic they insisted on me trying painkillers that also killed my brain (NOT a good idea in my job). They told me nothing else they could do, not bad enough to risk surgery. This time I'm going to insist they at least discuss trying spinal steroid injections, the thing they sort of forgot to mention last time Angry.

LanaorAna2 · 27/04/2018 10:52

Injections sound like a really good idea. Have you consulted Dr Google, always helpful.

Allergictoironing · 27/04/2018 11:04

Oh yes, I've consulted Dr Google which is how I know about them - no bloody doctor has seen fit to mention them as yet. Though the physiotherapist who has referred me to the pain clinic (all non-emergency musculo-skeletal disorders in my area go via physio) said they would be a good idea.

About 75% chance it would work, with more or less pain relief & varying time it would last for. Gotta be worth a try, pain is getting worse every year & really restricting my life now.

LanaorAna2 · 27/04/2018 13:54

Sounds awful. Have you tried shrieking into a pillow - melodramatic but it works. You feel like an idiot but Nurse Boycat won't bat an eye and you really get out some pain tension.

Push for the injections, I would.

Allergictoironing · 27/04/2018 14:11

Boycat panics if I cough or sneeze loudly (bless him). I'm in their bad books this afternoon, didn't check under the flipped over corner of the duvet & nearly sat on Girlcat who was asleep under it (how can a cat her size hide in such a small area?).

Not at the screaming stage, just grunting & gasping when I move about. Stepping into the bath this morning to have a shower was - "interesting", but I really needed to.

I think the most frustrating thing is according to the scans there's very little difference to 2 years ago, but I certainly didn't have sciatica down to my feet then, and I could do decent length journeys. Now even a quick once round Asda needs to be planned well!

InTheGhetto · 27/04/2018 14:43

Update: the night was ‘interesting’ but Ghetto was ready to settle by the early morning at least. And we finished the catio.

Lovely pictures Ghetto. In the left hand one he looks very kitteny.
He's clearly in his rightful position of supervisor in the centre one.
As for the one on the right - not a cat person? Yeah, right...

cozietoesie · 27/04/2018 15:36

Yup. Smitten. Grin

Guiltypleasures001 · 27/04/2018 15:55

What a beautiful creature, he has found his people 😻

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/04/2018 16:40

What a stunning cat Ghetto is, what breed is he?
PB seems to be at least hiding and lurking in plain sight now.
Progress is being made!

cozietoesie · 27/04/2018 17:01

The weird thing is that he'll make a big leap in progress on one thing and - at the same time - seem to regress in something else Sad. (As I said - ishoos.) at least he seems to have stopped spraying which was quite a biggie.

Weedsnseeds1 · 27/04/2018 17:20

That must be a relief cozie , it's not as if it's a smell easily ignored or removed!
Tooth brushing training is going well here, there's a lot of slurpy lip smacking and wounded looks afterwards, but he sits still and lets me do it!
