Each it could be anything. Take her to the vet

Weedsnseeds1 · 16/04/2018 08:45

She could have jumped and fallen awkwardly, pins and needles, abcess, not automatically a tumour

Weedsnseeds1 · 16/04/2018 08:47

She's only just over a year old, so odds are nothing sinister at that age. More likely a physical injury of some kind. But take her to the vet

YesItsMeIDontCare · 16/04/2018 08:51

Leroy did this. As far as the vet could tell he'd jumped off something and landed awkwardly (he had been pissing about in the shed and had jumped down about 6' onto a solid concrete floor). He had some Metacam for a couple of days and then was fine.

I’ve got metacam and I never take her in for those health check ups I pay every month for so hopefully the vet will be kind the week before payday! It’s horrible seeing her limping she’s hissing at me as well. She’s a fat lump I can’t even seeing her bothering to jump anywhere. She’s slept a lot this morning I’m just making a plan how to get her in the carrier. She’s two next month the other one is just one.

Just get her to the vet if you're that worried Each. It could be anything, most likely a small bite/cut, or a strain from landing badly. Neighbour's cat was limping the other day, turns out he had a tiny bite in an awkward place which she hadn't seen hidden in the longish fur he has, and it had formed an abscess. Cat was 100% after a couple of days.

Something like a tumour is most unlikely, especially as you've described sudden onset pain as they tend to sort of build up slowly over time.

Allergictoironing · 16/04/2018 09:12

Ah X-post. Bribery works well I found getting them in the carrier. But if you decide she needs to be grabbed a large towel comes in useful! Towel over cat then bundle her up in it, then stuff cat and towel together into the carrier.

Madgeis60 · 16/04/2018 09:30

She’s in her wicker house I will have to tip her up

Stay focused. You can do it. Hope it all goes well. She probably landed awkwardly and is a little bit sore. Let us know how it goes. Flowers for you and Daphne.

Vinorosso74 · 16/04/2018 10:44

If you're worried definitely take her to the vets. I hope all is ok with Daphne.

Madgeis60 · 16/04/2018 11:55

She’s going under GA for X-rays itsvery dramatic isn’t it? I wonder why I couldn’t hold her like at work. Bless her she was really crying. Dora thinks it’s broken.

OP posts:
Allergictoironing · 16/04/2018 12:25

Most animals need GA for X Rays 'cause they try to run away otherwise! She's a fit, healthy, young cat, don't worry too much - easy for me to say i know, not my PFC with a suspected broken leg Sad.

You found her soon, got her to the vet extra quick, you've done her proud. You have her well insured so she can have the best treatment. Keep us posted on any news please.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/04/2018 12:44

EachandEveryone · 16/04/2018 13:49

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/04/2018 13:53

Please keep us updated Flowers

EachandEveryone · 16/04/2018 14:49

She has a fracture thank god and needs a splint and meds for six weeks. She is going to be furious! Smile we will both be like hop along cassidy with me and my plantar fasciitis and her and her broken foot. I will never know what happened she was fine when we went to bed.

Allergictoironing · 16/04/2018 15:19

Aw poor Daphne Sad. Still, if it's a splint & meds job it won't be TOO bad, and was probably helped by you noticing & getting her seen to so quickly. Give her an extra scritch behind the ears from me.

QueenOfAccidentalDeathStares · 16/04/2018 15:22

poor daphne, hope she mends soon !

Ski37 · 16/04/2018 15:41

They are such a worry aren’t they! I always feel so helpless when there may be something wrong with my boy cat. Glad you know what it is now and hope she gets well soon x

YetAnotherSpartacus · 16/04/2018 15:47

Daphne! What did you do you silly girl? Poor poppet. And poor Each. Flowers.

EachandEveryone · 16/04/2018 16:22

I was in bits this morning she really was a different cat spitting at me. Ive bought her salmon lik e lix and put a basic tray down. My sister said its impossible her to break her leg as she gets carried everywhere!

Toddlerteaplease · 16/04/2018 16:22

My colleagues Cat broke her foot really badly no idea how she did it. Wish they could tell us!

EachandEveryone · 16/04/2018 16:24

Did she keep her in for long?

ifonly4 · 16/04/2018 16:44

poor Daphne and you - it's not easy going through this with them. How long before you get results? Will she has to stay in overnight?
