Help please stray at my door

Oh god I came home from work and there is a stray at my front door. DH informed me it's been here for hours crying and scratching at the door. It has even let itself in when a delivery came.

It has no collar and a bit underweight.

I have 3 DC and a dog

Tried the rspca but closed.

I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Will get hubby to take a pic for FB but I doubt it will be claimed with no collar?

I can't listen to it crying all night but also DH is off to work soon and I am alone with the DC and dog.

Any advice appreciated!!

What a lovekt heartwarming story. Is she having a Christmassy name? How old did the vet reckon?

TheLongRider · 05/12/2017 20:49

I have felt like the other woman in the relationship between me, my DH and the cat. She'd treat me like dirt under her claw while fluttering her eyelashes at himself. Smile

Fluffycloudland77 · 05/12/2017 20:54

My dad refused my mum a kitten 30 years ago, then relented & it was too late.

It is still something that can cause an atmosphere if you mention it.

HemanOrSheRa · 05/12/2017 20:59

I know LongRider. While we wait for photos from @shuggas. Here is my pin up traitor. Looking beautiful. The B&W kitty. They have cropped out the ecstatic DRIBBLE on DP's t shirt out AngryGrin

Sorry, hit post too quickly.

I’m so glad she’s got a home with you and your DH is such a softy!

TheLongRider · 05/12/2017 21:29

I assume the dogs aren't bothered by her? She looks perfectly at home on your knee. Cats will do what is necessary to fit in. If that means sucking up to the other humans and being respectful to dogs, that's fine.

overnightangel · 05/12/2017 21:38

Aww she’s gorgeous 😻

Snooks1971 · 05/12/2017 21:43

She is beautiful OP (claps hands excitedly) we've had so many strays over the last 20 years and all so perfect xx

MyWhatICallNameChange · 05/12/2017 21:47

Awww, that's so lovely, she looks like she totally belongs in your family.

EachandEveryone · 05/12/2017 22:10

Look at her and the dog! How fantastic.

thecatneuterer · 05/12/2017 22:38

Oh that's so lovely. It's great that the dog has accepted her (and your DH too!). You will need to get her spayed in the next few weeks (I would aim for the first week of the New Year) as it's very unlikely she's already been done.

I notice you said she'd been given a flea treatment and your DH gave her a bath. That will stop the flea treatment working. She will probably need another one but you should leave it a week. I would ask your vet what to do.

DoctorTwo · 05/12/2017 22:44

Congratulations OP, you now have a feline overlady. You've done a great thing. And she's a lucky girl to land on her paws like that.

LondonLassInTheCountry · 05/12/2017 22:59

Christmas names for cat.

Mistletoe?
Holly?
Snow?
Sparkle?

OrlandaFuriosa · 05/12/2017 23:04

Good luck for DH’s operation. He now has a smaller sized hot water bottle as opposed to the large one.

Nefer795 · 05/12/2017 23:05

Sounds daft I know but do you have a photo of her back?

EachandEveryone · 05/12/2017 23:23

Her paws are tiny! Maybe ive just forgot. Lovely girl.

LibbyLongtree · 06/12/2017 00:02

Well done OP and hubby but what a lovely chilled dog you have. I’m sure you’ll be happy with your new addition.

ChishandFips33 · 06/12/2017 00:13

Aw well done for being chosen - means you're special!

Love the photo with the dog

Enjoy your new addition

...a scratching post may come in handy to save your curtains and couch

We didn't bother with posh beds after I'd bought several and they were ignored as they seem to choose where they want to be. Mine love a cardboard box though!

Want2beme · 06/12/2017 00:18

So glad she's staying & your Ddog is just awesome. Happy catting Wink

bayseyan · 06/12/2017 05:49

Knew you'd keep 😊

sashh · 06/12/2017 06:15

Like HemanOrSheRa my cat has several neighbours conned into thinking she is a astray.

Glad she is staying, she has obviously chosen well.

My cat is Misty - it started as 'Mystery cat', then got expanded to Marquesa Gato Mysteriosa, hunter of legs, but Misty for day to day.

I notice you said she'd been given a flea treatment and your DH gave her a bath.

I read that as the dog giving the bath, ie a good lick.
