Evening all, this is a new thread all about gorgeous Heidi, following on from the thread started by Gatekeeper.

We answered her thread call to give this tiny kitty a new home and we drove from Devon to Durham and back in 24hours to do so...

Now Heidi is settling well at our place after being looked after perfectly by Gatekeeper, and this thread is all about the new life of a very little and brave cat with the bushiest tale known to catkind!

If anyone can link to the original thread it would be much appreciated :)

Here's Heidi Cat not on the bed and using her purr box whilst she gets a cuddle from DH :)

“You’ve driven a 600 mile round trip to pick me up DH so the least you can do is stroke me now I’m here! “ Grin

Morning all! She's kept me awake most of the night yowling again...no idea what for, she had a great dinner of gourmet kitty food plus nibbles of chicken from the roast...we are getting used to being boxed in the face early hours now to get up and tend to her every whim! Grin

I did wonder if she was scared of the wind outside. Anyway here she is curled up next to me this morning having a clean and purring Grin

Good morning Heidi...think you missed a bit...oh no you just got it Xmas Grin Hope the upcoming vet trip helps with the midnight yowling!

StewPots · 11/12/2017 10:18

And after 3 days of nothing, Heidi has now approached the tree and looks mischievous so I may have to remove the lights today....

I don't think I've had a chance to say how gorgeous she is your DH is a bit of alright too ... don't worry I'm too old ! Clearly you were made for each other - I mean you and DH and Heidi ... oh dear.

StewPots · 11/12/2017 12:53

@TheSassyAssassin GrinGrinGrinthat's brilliant - naughty little kitty! Ours is next to our tv unit so I'm waiting for Heidi Cat to figure out she can jump up there then into the tree!!

Morning all. Bit of bad news this morning. Taken Heidi to the vet to see if she can get spayed etc. The answer was a flat no, she has a heart murmur :(

Vet is trying to get bloods from her now, looks like we will have to see a cardiologist at some point :(

It's all become very clear why she was dumped somewhere now, it all makes sense. It will be a massive finiancial strain no doubt about it but we will manage somehow, but it looks like she may be a poorly puss :(

StewPots · 13/12/2017 09:39

Vet managed to get bloods without using a sedative, turns out Heidi doesn't like vets!

Utterly devastated. So all we know so far is that if she has low protein in her blood (find out in a week or two) then she will just need monitoring, or perhaps medication. If it's high then we are looking at surgery but vet said that's a high risk situation due to anaesthetic.

I just don't know what to think :( we all love this little cat :(

Stew Pots Flowers. I don't know what to say. Let's hope that it is the best possible scenario for you and little Heidi.

Fluffycloudland77 · 13/12/2017 09:53

Wait & see what the results show. Lots of cats have murmers.

fuzzywuzzy · 13/12/2017 09:55

Our boy has a heart murmur we have to pill him three times a day, I googled the pill he was perscribed and our vets honoured the price I found on line, effectively giving us a lifelong discount on it.

May be worth thinking about once you find out for sure the route the vets want to take.

Our boy is absolutely fine we take him for quarterly check ups and his bloods and heart have come up normal everytime. He developed his heart murmur after we got him neutered. he is a Maine Coon cross with something else and the cheekiest thing ever.

StewPots · 13/12/2017 10:08

Thanks for reassurance everyone :) vet reckons it's a grade 4 so we've started on blood tests and go from there.

I think she will probably need medication by the sounds of it. Still a bit of a shock an upsetting though. I reckon whoever had her got that diagnosis an just went "nope" and dumped her somewhere :(

She's not happy with us as she's hiding in a cupboard at the moment.

@fuzzywuzzy that's reassuring that your boy is ok. What grade was he?
