Worried sick - 2yo boy cat has not been seen since Friday

Where could he be hiding?!

We've knocked on doors up and down the road today, no one has seen him. DH has looked in the field behind us. Nothing. I've called and called. Favourite scratch post is outside. Still nothing.

I'm most worried as we've got a building site / housing development a few hundred yards south of us, behind our road. What if he's laying there injured and we can't get to him? 😢

I've shared his picture on social media, as have Cats Protection.

My anxiety is going through the roof. Bunny was killed by a fox 3 weeks ago - now my anxiety imagination is wondering if he's suffered the same fate.

no. How do I find out? Thankyou.

dailydance · 21/10/2017 20:55

Cats can be surprising. I know someone whose cat disappeared.. and reappeared at their front door 9 years later!!

SandunesAndRainclouds · 22/10/2017 08:26

If you're on Facebook, there's lots of Cat lost / found groups.
RSPCA use Pets Located. There's also Pets Reunited. Register her lost with the microchip company and also with all local vets / rescue centres.

Hope you both find your cats soon. I once had one go missing for 6 weeks..

3catsandcounting · 25/10/2017 16:54

Any news yet?

ProperLavs · 25/10/2017 18:29

no news for us Sad

3catsandcounting · 25/10/2017 19:31

Properlavs - Sad don't give up hope; they're funny creatures (but I know how useless it makes you feel)

SandunesAndRainclouds · 25/10/2017 21:11

No, nothing here either.

I got a call to say he'd been seen 7 miles away, went on a wild goose chase and found nothing.

Considering getting a GPS tracker for girl cat, I'm feeling very anxious about letting her out 😔

3catsandcounting · 25/10/2017 23:55

OP - I actually saw my girl cat crossing the road in front of me (rural) 3 weeks after she'd disappeared. I leapt out of the car to try and find her, but no luck.
She turned up back home 2 weeks later!

SandunesAndRainclouds · 28/10/2017 20:05

Two weeks now 😪

I remember my cat when I was a kid went missing for about 2 weeks. I don't think they did microchipping then, but she had a collar with our number on it. Then we got a call from a lovely family saying that they had her, and had been feeding her leftovers. Bless that family, I'll never forget them. They clearly weren't well-off, and had just been given her left over food that they hadn't eaten. When they managed to get her in their house, they called us and we went and collected her. She was covered in oil (god knows how) and had got a good 15 minute walk away from our house. She was literally skin and bone, but we had her for another 15 years after that. I hope you have some good news.

I haven't seen my new cat for over 24 hours now and I'm getting worried! I think I might buy them little cameras that you can clip on to the collars or get her fitted with a tracker if she comes back!

Three weeks have passed since we last saw BoyCat. I'm really struggling. We are also at the year anniversary of my daughter suddenly becoming unwell which led to the discovery that she had a tumour which needed major surgery to remove.

I feel lost in this world sometimes. BoyCat stayed with DD the whole time she was ill. I feel like I've failed DD by not finding him Sad DH thinks we should assume the worse has happened, allow myself to grieve and move on. It's so hard.

I’m so sorry about your cat and your daughter.

I really hope he comes home soon.

Please don’t think you have failed your daughter - she knows you love her and that you never want anything bad to happen.

It is very hard to mourn a pet that has disappeared because you have no confirmation of its fate either way.

My beloved cat disappeared when I was a child and I never found out what happened to him.

Hope you get news soon xx

PosiePootlePerkins · 05/11/2017 20:02

So sorry OP, its the not knowing that is the worst thing. You haven't failed anyone, cats do go missing all the time unfortunately. Don't give up hope. Flowers

SandunesAndRainclouds · 12/11/2017 15:27

It's four weeks now since he was last snuggled up to DD and disappeared overnight.

It's driving me crazy not knowing where he is. Just as I thought I was taking control of the anxiety that started while DD was ill, this has made me worse. It's unfair.

5 weeks later...

So happy Grin

Such good news! :) :) :) And the story is????

thecatneuterer · 17/11/2017 12:22

OMG!! Exactly. Whats the story?|

Vinorosso74 · 17/11/2017 12:26

Wow! Pleased to hear he's home and hope he's ok. If only they could talk. Mind being cats they wouldn't tell us anything!

Wolfiefan · 17/11/2017 12:27

Bloody amazing! Such great news. Is he ok?

SandunesAndRainclouds · 17/11/2017 12:29

Sorry didn't think anyone would be interested!!

I was really lucky and our local radio station picked up the story and interviewed me yesterday. Someone heard it, had seen my posters and realised that the cat which had appeared in the garden at her work was the same one. She called me, I went there and shook biscuits / called his name and he miaowed! I didn't believe my ears... tried again and he answered me! Initially he ran off but with a calm voice and food he came to me. I grabbed him and didn't let go!

He was less than half a mile away but had gone over a very busy main road just before it divides into a dual carriageway.

Luckily he's not injured at all, just lost lots and lots of weight. I'm overjoyed!

Wolfiefan · 17/11/2017 12:34

That's fantastic.
And of course we are interested!!!
I take it he's grounded?!

SnoopySnoop · 17/11/2017 12:36

Oh that's wonderful news OP!

Our 1 year old cat disappeared for 4 days last month. Looked everywhere, put poster up, leaflets through doors. I was sure she was gone for good as she's very small and timid. We were amazed to wake up to find her sitting on the trampoline on the 5th day. No idea where she was. We also had another cat go missing a few years back of a similar age and never found him.

Bloody things!

Dolceandgabbana14 · 17/11/2017 12:39

Wow, fantastic news. I really am so pleased that you are reunited and that all is well.
