I made it public (contains swearing and cat yowling)... https://m.facebook.com/story.php?storyfbid=10152388599291086&id=711416085&rdr

SmileHe looks like a little door stop

cozietoesie · 16/09/2017 21:44

The 'door stop' is bouncing up and down the stairs at the moment. Smile

cozietoesie · 16/09/2017 21:46

Said stairs still being covered by a fair amount of carpet. (The cat scratchers arrived just in time. Smile)

cozietoesie · 16/09/2017 21:50

He's having another bout of talking. (Second this evening.) I'm out of the habit of it. Blush

Lanaorana2 · 16/09/2017 22:01

You do talk back, of course. Sometimes I find it hard to think of new things to say.

Stablecat is a phenomenon.

Ah, NewBoy is warming up, just in time for autumn. Lovely!

Am intrigued by all these cats who won't be picked up. Ours tolerate it happily - or nobly and without violence, at any rate.

cozietoesie · 16/09/2017 22:24

I 'wonder' - he's just started again - whether he's just reminding me of his presence, Second Supper looming and all. Grin

Ollivander84 · 16/09/2017 22:35

Could well be. Got to make sure the Creature is on time with his food 😉

cozietoesie · 16/09/2017 22:39

He doesn't realise, likely, that he can be outtalked - once I'm back in practice. Grin

Lanaorana2 · 17/09/2017 10:33

He LOVES a chat, you can tell.

How was last night? Mr C grabbed my hand as I turned over in the dark, slapped me, and screamed for a night snack. I declined, to no ill effect.

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 13:23

He was quite active, I think. I've come to the conclusion that he likes me being up and about and becomes .........antsy when it goes dark and I'm not 'around'. (All my other Siamese have actively enjoyed this time because it means bed, cuddles and love - but the poor lad doesn't know what that is. Sad)

He's happier and more relaxed this morning at any rate. Smile

cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 13:33

PS - the 'talking' is a little noisy. (Understatement.) He doesn't seem to yet realise that he can modulate his volume and tone and still be listened to - comes from living in a multi-cat household, I guess. Wink

YetAnotherSpartacus · 17/09/2017 13:43

Ollie is giving me a look of "hoomans be weird"

Ollie be right ...

Madcats · 17/09/2017 14:00

Ooh can I join in?
Madcat1 (sadly PTS age 12) was a grey tortie siamese, Madcat2 trad sealpoint (14), that we bought as kittens. I should have been cautious when their dad launched himself up my torso when we first met (this would have been okay except he'd spotted another cat he wanted to shout at).

Madcat 1 definitely preferred shoulders, whereas Madcat 2 prefers to be carried like a baby. He is known to stamp on our feet if he feels he is being overlooked.

They both went very weird when I was pregnant (to the verge of stalking), then gave me a VERY wide berth after the baby came.

I really popped on to suggest that the two cats suddenly fighting happened to us whenever one of the cats got ill. There is/was a very clear sense of pecking order in the house (I have a hunch I am now at the bottom of the pile).

cozietosie wishing you the best of luck with Newboy. Madcat2 is so much more extrovert (and vocal) now his brother isn't around.

Roast dinner is on the cards for us tonight and possibly a fire = very chuffed cat (who might almost forgive us for all leaving the house for the afternoon).

cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 14:12

I used to come home from - say - an evening out to find Seniorboy sitting on the bottom stair 'waiting for me' with a look on his face like a Victorian grandmother who was trying very hard to be modern. Full of disappointment. Grin

I just ignored him of course. Wink

Lanaorana2 · 17/09/2017 16:44

Tell me about it - if ever one is harlot enough to take tea with another spinster to discuss our charity work, Mr C waits, paw tapping, behind the front door. He sniffs my breath and gives me the dead fish eye, keeps up the silent treatment for hours.

Cats haven't read MN on not being judgmental. With an attitude like that I might as well go out stripping for crack.

The talking is SERIOUSLY GOOD NEWS. So sweet and tender. The noise might abate in time, hopefully. At least you know where he is :)

cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 17:07

And how! Grin

(He's very sleek with his movements as well. Seniorboy, being very elderly, used to go slowly and fairly predictably. You never know where this one could turn up. Unless you offer him CALORIES! Grin)

ToddlersAndCoffee · 17/09/2017 19:46

I've been really enjoying all your updates cozie! Newboy looks gorgeous! Can I ask you if you think my boy looks Siamese to you? He was sold as birman but he's so slender and your an expert in this feild! He defiantly is Siamese in character, lots of random 'yowling' and very full on with his loveing!

Newboy: sequel that's better than the original
Fluffycloudland77 · 17/09/2017 19:57

Oh yes the disapproval of breaking routine 🙄

Last time we went to a wedding (and it will be last one too, they had it on a Thursday despite us all being working class & having actual jobs to go to on a Friday) ours was sat on the garden wall, back firmly to us & ears resolutely forwards despite me calling him. It was tipping down with rain too, enough for all roads around the venue to flood.

In the end I had to say "asbo I can see you, you need to come in now" before an ear flicked around.

Only weddings of family members I like from now on, that narrows it down considerably.

Lanaorana2 · 17/09/2017 20:08

I hope Newboy has the renowned delicacy of his breed to stop caterwauling during the last episode of Strike.

Talking of crime, Mr C is committing Aggravated Resting. The throw is blasting away, knackering the internet signal, but am I allowed to turn it down? He's sitting on the remote.

Speed - they do go like the clappers, especially when they want you to know they want something - deliberately noisy running.

OOh! Chickens are half price in M&S until tomorrow. 2.50 for a big Oakham.

cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 21:18

Goodness. I'm no expert, Toddlers. But he looks like a Birman. Smile (That's not a Siamese face and eyes to me.)

You'll be able to check from his papers? Smile

cozietoesie · 17/09/2017 21:21

He's recently been 'talked back to...'. I don't think he quite knew what to make of it when I kept going. That'll learn him! Grin

Lanaorana2 · 17/09/2017 22:13

He'll get to love it. And recognise words, too. Does he know his name yet?

Does he mew with a regional accent? Cats do, you know - apparently Brummie pets get fed more because the noise is so annoying.
