The little furry fuckers

that arrived 3 weeks ago have so far

  • shredded a net curtain
  • disconnected and chewed the TV connection to the satellite dish
  • squeezed into hiding places that I didn't know existed - cue me squeezing behind shelves to find a pair of eyes in the shadows
  • walked on my chest at 4am every morning shouting for breakfast/to play (and thus are learning that their names at this time of night are "Fuck Off" and "Are You Mental") - before you think I'm cruel, they have a bowl of dry food always available
  • generated more vile smelling poo that I've ever had to deal with from DD
  • are going to cost me €500 for jabs, spaying and microchipping
  • prefer very cheap wet food to the nice Royal Canin that I treated them to - the rescue had them on Whiskas
  • have part bankrupted me with toys/cat trees/cat caves that just look soo cute and of course they prefer the box

But are worth it as they are just cute as bejaysis!

Anyone else with a furry overlord who prefers the cheap food - and is it OK to compensate for it with decent dry food?

If the second one grows into his ears then you will need much stronger net curtains. Just saying.

They are gorgeous.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 21/07/2017 13:32

My furry overlord has Royal Canin Oral Care and Hairball Control....

and Felix pouches. I'm mean - the Doubly Delicious ones, but even so...

All other wet food has been scraped at, clearly indicating that he thinks it's shit. Hmm

Fluffycloudland77 · 21/07/2017 13:33

You know why mine sleeps in the utility room overnight now!.

They don't look the least bit sorry.

littlewoollypervert · 21/07/2017 13:40

They are sisters - if they both grow according to Margo's ear size I'm in trouble amn't I (Margo - all black, Barbara - black and white).

YesItsMe they seem to like the LIDL stuff best! Whiskas gets the gravy/jelly licked off, then they return for the meat. Your overlord is gorgeous...

Oh and they are never sorry - that's not in their cat vocab.

(I don't have a futility room and the purring is a lovely lullaby so I might let them stay in the bedroom for the moment)

I need a futility room. If I had one I'd live in it.

Hidingtonothing · 21/07/2017 13:53

Love their names! They're beautiful but yes, you have a whole world of trouble still to come Grin

Allergictoironing · 21/07/2017 13:54

Mine also on Royal Canin (indoor & anti-hairball) dry and Felix AGAIL. Seem to be doing pretty well on it.

Those EARS on the second one, amazing! And a charcoal tabby too - I've only really seen one, and that's my Girlcat who's markings aren't as strong as his (just really show on head, legs & tail). Better not let her see the photo, she may sulk!

Allergictoironing · 21/07/2017 13:55

Apologies x-post - HER markings Blush

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2017 14:08

Mine have Royal Canin Persian dry and once or twice a week have a pouch as a treat. Wiskars and felix are favourites. Royal Canin and gourmet are not. (Unless it's pate) Sheba is banned due to the sticky poo and fluffy trousers incident!

Toddlerteaplease · 21/07/2017 14:08

Ps. Gorgeous cats OP

littlewoollypervert · 21/07/2017 15:14

Grin am totally in lurve with them!

Yes Margo's tabby markings are amazing (and she knows it!). Barbara has the softest fur I've ever touched. She runs away from stroking except just before going asleep, when she positions herself under my hand and purrs like a machine gun.

I can see her having a furry trousers incident too - is it OK to use babywipes on them (as I always have them handy)? Barbara managed to step in her own poo yesterday morning (yuk)

I used to use the Water wipes on my pairs eyes. Except they disappeared the minute the packet came out.

dementedpixie · 21/07/2017 16:05

I have used baby wipes, animal wipes (although the ones i have are huge and thick so I cut them into smaller pieces) and a wet microfibre cloth. I have to chase them round the house if they see me with it though. One of mine went through a phase of stepping in his poo so i had to check his feet every time he went in the litter. I resorted to sticking his paw under the tap on several occasions too!

littlewoollypervert · 21/07/2017 17:26

I put Barbara in the sink on day 1 - I was not popular!

cliffdiver · 21/07/2017 17:34

OP you need to get rid of those cats immediately and send them to me.

littlewoollypervert · 21/07/2017 17:57

No chance cliff Smile - I am currently on my way home to them and looking forward to the mayhem!

This is Rosie. Her favourite food minus cucumber is from Lidl.

Picture one was when I dared to buy her another food.

Picture three is her giving evil looks because I screamed and got Dh to clean up after she threw up and she really wanted to eat that Envy

Cannot believe I killed a thread in litter tray.

Weedsnseeds1 · 23/07/2017 00:05

The eyebrows on the black and white one are fabulous!

Are these the two that came to the flat in London you were asking about kitten proofing? God they are totally divine. Just gorgeous. My new baby has everything laced with felix kitten and she manages to find every bit of it and leaves the good stuff. She loves science plan dry and I'm giving her that plus two wet feeds a day. My vet says I have to keep up with the wet. I hate the smell of it. Are they in the same litter tray? Do you feel like you are endlessly shovelling shite?

EachandEveryone · 23/07/2017 06:22

Ah you're the one that split up with your boyfriend when you were about to get kittens??

littlewoollypervert · 24/07/2017 12:32

Yep that's me, not in London though!

Every I have two covered litter trays (Lidl's best - but they couldn't work the doors so I took them off - have to put them back on again). Gave away the uncovered litter trays to the local SPCA - plus the senior cat food I'd bought by mistake!

Only shovelling the poo morning and evening so not too bad. I think the dry food I'm giving them is Science Plan - I'll check when I go home.

I think if I hadn't got them I'd be in work till 8pm every evening to avoid going home to an empty house - they really have changed my life!
