I've had to go up north for the day I hope they will be ok home alone I've closed all the blinds. I keep telling myself it's just like a 12 hour shift except four hours longer!

My old boy (20) has been spending all his time during the last few weeks shuttling between a shady spot and a sunny spot in the garden. We go and prod him periodically to check he's still alive.

Dear old fellow. He's happy anyway.

Freyja decided to wake me up this morning by rubbing her head on my head (fine, pleasant), and when that failed to work, rubbing her bumhole in my face (not OK, deeply unpleasant). Thanks puss.

So 20 year old cat who is very wobbly on his legs and doesn't have a great deal of vision left has found a new sleeping spot this morning. I despair of his inability to perform a basic risk assessment.

I have had a lie in with my lovely girl. She seems to have forgiven me for bringing babycat into our lives. Little does she know she's off to the cattery next week!
