Ah. You got back in. Smile

No damage?

Vinorosso74 · 20/07/2017 21:20

They are clearly good at the "starving cat" act!

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2017 21:28

Christ I was home my usual time. I'm not sure what's happened but they are letting people through

If my experience is anything to go by (big fire near by), they'll likely keep an engine at the scene all night in case of any smouldering. (And to preserve the scene until the White suits have done their stuff etc etc.) Don't expect to get too much sleep if it's opposite you.

Glad everything's fine though. Smile

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2017 21:36

Daphne is going mad to get out I can't let her though can I. Ps she only goes down the back please don't anyone think that's where she plays out!

Vinorosso74 · 20/07/2017 21:38

The photo is too blurred to see if there any attractive firemen Wink
I'm pleased all is ok at home.

cozietoesie · 20/07/2017 21:38

No. Keep her in. The fire might take off again in a small way. (Unlikely but not impossible.)

cozietoesie · 20/07/2017 21:40

Well done, Vino. Keep up tradition! Grin

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2017 21:52

It could've been bloody awful I only wrote to the council last week about gas cannisters. I'm in tescos. Buying wine.

cozietoesie · 20/07/2017 22:10

It could have been, Yes. But it wasn't.

Have a good dose of wine. (I use the 'dose' word with precision in these circumstances.)

Glad you're all OK.

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2017 22:32

Thanks my hairdresser rang me to check up on the cats! The woman from the taxi office rang me to tell me about the roads and my plumber rang to check if they needed feeling. It's a very rough round the edges neighbourhood but there's a heart there. Downstairs there's a chap sorting out accommodation I offered them my kitchen to sit in but he seems to have it in hand. Wine and tv for me. Daphne is furious with me she loves her night time walks.

TheCatOfAthenry · 20/07/2017 22:40

Biscuit went bananas running around the living room. My legs suffered in his feline pursuits.

And I worried I upset him when I shouted in fright!

Oh dear, @EachandEveryone. Sending catty thoughts your way. X

cozietoesie · 20/07/2017 22:44

Fire is .....something else. It brings out depth in people.

Sleep as well as you can. Stuff Daphne as well - she'll adjust. Grin

Ski37 · 20/07/2017 22:44

eachandeveryone so pleased you are all ok, sounds like there is a great community where you are!
vino that made me laugh!

cozietoesie · 20/07/2017 22:45

Ouch, TheCat.

EachandEveryone · 20/07/2017 23:08

There were some better looking ones but it was hard to take photos without looking like a perve.

Those scratches just look mean i suppose at least theres no blood.

TheCatOfAthenry · 20/07/2017 23:23

@EachandEveryone they've since bled and have risen into welty things (I have dermatographic urticaria).

Still love the little furry ball of accidental violence. Grin

Ski37 · 21/07/2017 00:10

My cat is having a little catty tantrum because I won't let him out again after dark. I'm currently being treated to a chorus of anguished meows at the window, scratching at the duvet and stamping on my chest with his little catty paws.
He's usually a very elegant cat but this picture of him made me laugh so much I had to share it ..... maybe this is why he's so mad!

theCatOfAthenty were those marks from his teeth or claws? (although I fully understand if you weren't paying attention to which weapons you really Dcat was using !
I've only ever been scratched badly by my cats claws once and my skin didn't seem to react much. I have ,however , had lots of accidental bites and teeth scrapings from said Dcat and I always seem to get the welts you've described- I think it is something to do with a reaction to the saliva. It goes down in a couple of days ( just in time for the next one ) but always looks worse tha it is for a while ....

Ski37 · 21/07/2017 01:02

CatOfAthenry also the other day my Dcat decided to jump up and have a chomp on my ankle for no other reason than he was being 'playfull' . It hurt and I yelped and shot out of bed..... he was more scared than I was and I felt so bad I spent the next 20 mins feeding him dreamies and telling him what a good cat he was 😹

cozietoesie · 21/07/2017 01:10

So what message would that have given to him? Grin

Ski37 · 21/07/2017 01:51

cozietoesie I know !!! I'm usually much more measured in my reactions but the 'bite' was very unexpected ( I'd missed the preceding clues as I was so tired- 24 hrs awake after an on call and thought Dcat would somehow realise this and go to sleep with me- he didn't- he wanted to play !) I hadn't realised he was so to me close me until he 'bit' me I kicked out with my legs as a reaction and sent him flying. I felt, and still feel awful.... he does a very good line in 'feel sorry for me' faces.... hence the treats and telling him it's not his fault.
