Well poor Dolly at the vet for her last jabs it was a vet I'd never met before and he wasn't our lovely usual one so, Dolly plays dead just lies there as stiff as a board he did all kinds of things to her she didn't move only to jump into her carrier as soon as he finished. Then we got thrown off the bus and it was peeing down. She's now hiding behind the sofa. On the plus side she's nearly 2kg. Will she always be shy do you think?

cozietoesie · 11/07/2017 22:15

No. She should come round. (Said hopefully.)

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2017 22:36

Oh and Daphne has licked all the Broadline off Dolly's neck

TheCatOfAthenry · 11/07/2017 22:39

She might be shy with new people but should be totally bondable with for you!

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2017 22:44

Oh she is she was as stiff as a board at the vets but in my arms! She won't come for cuddles though I have to pick her up. She knows her name and she knows dinner. Daphne still knows neither of them! But Daph never left my side. I kind of miss that but she's evolved I suppose. She's much less needy.

TheCatOfAthenry · 11/07/2017 23:12

I get that. I like to be needed.

I gave up on toilet training them because even though they did well it still meant more scrubbing stuff for me.

EachandEveryone · 11/07/2017 23:21

Tell me about it i was under the table just minutes ago with vinegar even though there was nothing under there. I dont know if im just paranoid or what. Im using worlds best and taking the clumps out every time i walk past. Ive got bloody jo malone all over the flat! I just want a good fresh breeze its been so hot here.

TheCatOfAthenry · 11/07/2017 23:35

I have assigned colleagues to warn me if I ever smell like cat at work.

So far so good.

Or else I'm now the crazy cat lady they daren't upset! Blush

caffeinestream · 12/07/2017 10:48

And he does it so well!

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/07/2017 12:39

Then we got thrown off the bus and it was peeing down

Why did you get thrown off??

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2017 14:12

Because that bloody contactless thing they do on London buses it wouldn't take my card there was nearly a riot on the bus I held it up so much looking for another card. A passenger tried to pay for me and the driver wouldn't allow that either.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/07/2017 14:24

Oh Each! I'm so sorry. I'd have paid for you in a heartbeat, so mean of the driver not to allow it. I have to admit I thought it was because of Dolly. Please give her some cuddles and treats for me.

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2017 15:51

No they wouldn't let any one pay for me! The police where on the bus and they wouldn't let anyone pay and they told me to get off. Bloody Barclays had put a lock on my card due to suspicious activity and I didn't know. I had to walk for ages poor Dolly she already pretended to be dead at the vets. She's a nervous wreck as it is.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 12/07/2017 15:56

I do feel for you. I've had two locks put on my card in the last 6 months and am seriously considering another card that I neither want nor need as back-up. But public transport for me is safety, so having to walk would be traumatising even without a darling furry one.

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2017 17:41

Its ridiculous they should never have stopped taking cash

My friend his distraught her girl had the op today and it didn't go to plan so they had to go in again and she won't be discharged til tomorrow

cozietoesie · 12/07/2017 17:59

How old is her girl?

cozietoesie · 12/07/2017 18:00

Sorry - I wasn't clear what happened. Did something go wrong or was the start delayed?

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2017 18:09

8 months. She started bleeding badly and woke up! They had to go back in.

Ski37 · 12/07/2017 19:27

EachandEveryone I hope your friends cat is ok x
Mine produced his first hairball yesterday (whilst he's been with me at least- he's nearly 2 and I've had him 4 months) 🙀! He had been 'not quite himself' during the day but there was nothing obvious wrong with him. He spent the evening meowing at me but he's always pretty chatty then he disappeared off into the kitchen. 15 minutes later I went in and found a pile of sick- undigested food with a massive hair ball in it- I thought it was an entire mouse at first until I had a closer look! He's since been right as rain and kept me up all last night bringing toys into my room and stamping on me when he decided he wanted some more affection( presumably because he slept all day when he wasn't feeling well!) 😬
is it worth feeding him anti hair ball food or does it not make much difference?

EachandEveryone · 12/07/2017 19:33

I'm interested in this answer too.

Ski37 · 12/07/2017 19:54

This is his highness ready to pounce on a shadow that somehow offended him (or more likely he knows he's not allowed on the counter so he was pretending to be interested in something before I shoved him off!!!!)

Allergictoironing · 12/07/2017 19:58

Well I had my first hairball from either of mine the other day after well over a year of them moving in. Indoor only cats, and the amount of underfur that comes off them daily makes me surprised they aren't bald yet!

I feed them mostly indoor cat kibble (plus wet), which is partially anti-hairball formulated along with being lower energy, and a couple of times a week I put out a bowl of special anti-hairball kibble. As I said, only 1 hairball between them in 14 months - though I do notice that quite often their poo is sort of strung together by hair (yuk) which my DSis with indoor/outdoor cats has never seen in hers. So i reckon it does seem to work at least to some extent.

Ski37 · 12/07/2017 20:28

Mine is feed on James wellbeloved 'indoor cat' - the vet said this is fine and he doesn't need a wet diet as he drinks well ( he was on wet only in the cattery before I got him and I tried it but all he did was lick the jelly off then refuse to eat, he's been fine in dry sin). I've tried the anti hair ball formula with him but he doesn't like it as much- he still ate it though when he was hungry so maybe I will mix and match. I think the anti hair ball is designed to help the fur pass through the gut rather than collect in the stomach.... is this correct?
