Cat 1 - when she and her brother (cat 2) disappeared in the kitchen overnight. After an hour that included us pulling the washing machine out, the oven, removing kick boards, we found them curled up in a wok on the pan stand and watching us. They then slept with us.
Cat 2 - when he couldnt reach his food bowl without his back legs waving in thin air whilst wearing a cone. Sat on the floor and spoon fed him for a week.
Cat 3 - when she ate a pint of custard as a 14 week old and her belly was so full it dragged on the ground. Sat up with her all night. Sleeps in between OH and I (under the duvet) - if we're spooning, she nudges our shoulders til we move apart.
Cat 4 - stray. When I started posting my arm out the cat flap to put food in his bowl (he was too scared to come in for 2 years).
Cat 5 - stray. Never really happened. He disappeared again after a few months.
Cat 6 and 7 - abandoned at 4 weeks. The photo on my colleagues phone was enough to melt my heart. One needed hourly reassurance for the first 6 months, day and night. They now sleep on our beds.
Cat 8 - stray. Just from his little sad face. Once he let someone near him, he bonded with OH fast. He likes nothing better than sitting on his bare chest. This makes cat 1 very jealous!
