I have taken the liberty of making a new thread! Maisie and Freya are relaxing in a patch of sun

My little one is enjoying the chase so I can go to kip for Afew hours off today. She sneezes more than I remember Daphne doing her eyes and everything are ok. When do I start combing her?

@EachandEveryone Biscuit was sneezy at first too. I think he was eating and drinking with his nose in the water/food.

Apparently hay fever/allergies can cause it too. I'm no expert at all, but Biscuit stopped after a few weeks.

EachandEveryone · 11/06/2017 09:49

Thanks! How old is he now

caoraich · 11/06/2017 09:56

oldraver Freya growls! Mainly when she sees the Fluffy Interloper in the back garden. There's also a black and white cat and a number of foxes who she head-bumps so I have no idea why Fluffy Interloper gets growled at. She's definitely a she and a pet as she has a jingly collar and is v well groomed. Strange.

As an aside, does anyone else's cat befriend foxes!?

Oneago used to growl at the postie. (He hated the postie with a deep and deadly loathing.)

TheCatOfAthenry · 11/06/2017 10:14

@EachandEveryone he's 9-10 weeks. Came to us at 5-6 weeks (mum cat struggling, kitten a little thin, formula fed by us).

I think your little one is older, but I'm thinking it might have been a settling thing rather than an age thing and could be confounded by his earlier weaning?

TheCatOfAthenry · 11/06/2017 10:16

Cookie howls like a dog at passing cats. I went down one day thinking a dog was barking in at her, but it was her barking at another cat!

Has also made crying baby noises.

I like that weird cat!

EachandEveryone · 11/06/2017 10:20

Mine must be 12 weeks she was 11 at the rescue. Shes very different to the big one who was 7 weeks theres a massive difference in behaviour

Weedsnseeds1 · 11/06/2017 10:36

Current cat hasn't growled as far as I know, but the tortie I had four cats ago was a very enthusiastic growler! I also had a growling rabbit as a child!

Oldraver · 11/06/2017 10:48

Oh yes I forgot about the cats he growls at...from the safety of indoors.

I think if he saw a fox he would shit himself. The couple I have seen round here are quite big (and magnificent) examples of foxes. OH says a cat will see a fox off but I'm not convinced. So Ernie comes in at night and especially when I hear any foxes..

I was told last week Ernie had seen off next doors cat. I did try to defend him, though didnt try too hard

AWendyAteMyFitbit · 11/06/2017 11:23

Cozie it's really quite mild here. I think he just liked being wrapped up Smile.

Thetitisright · 11/06/2017 11:30

Mine are chilling this morning

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/06/2017 12:32

I used to practice that sort of expression to authors who had displeased me

No doubt they deserved it.

Lovely day like this and the cat is asleep in a dark room.

iloveeverykindofcat · 11/06/2017 13:26

Oh yes, Bibi growls. She has a whole range of communicative noises Grin

EachandEveryone · 11/06/2017 15:25

Contemplating on how much her life has changed. I hope she will be ok

cozietoesie · 11/06/2017 15:55

I think so. That's not an unhappy cat from the look of her. Smile

Ollivander84 · 11/06/2017 16:05

Ollie is overgrooming again < eye roll >
Vet has shown me how to do the steroid jabs at home but I'm not confident so back to the vets for him soon to have another

cozietoesie · 11/06/2017 16:21

What are you using as a distraction technique? Smile

EachandEveryone · 11/06/2017 17:28

There's no hissing and she caught me when I thought she was whacking her and it's actual more like a soft pat it looks worse. They've had a play and are now both asleep in different rooms I don't know when I'll be confident to leave them together while I go out. Dolly likes the safety of her box but they look ok I think

Want2beme · 11/06/2017 17:28

Oldraver all of my cats growl. I was really taken aback at the first cat growl I heard.

Ollivander84 · 11/06/2017 17:29

Nothing works Sad he's in a trance when he does it and he also does it a lot when I'm out or overnight so I can't stop him. You have to physically move his head and he cries and frantically tries to do it again so I'm sticking with the jabs for a while to try and break the cycle and let his skin heal
He's having a nap Smile (bald leg is because vet shaved it and then he over groomed it) Hmm
