Tiny Dumped Kitten

The downside of rural Italian life.

Another sod decides the local English soft touch is the place to dump an unwanted kitten. I went to the loo and heard screaming from the back garden. It's far too small to have climbed over itself. At least this time it isn't in a plastic bag.

(former) Tiny Dumped Kittens 1-8 have been living with me for between 13-5 years. I cannot do 9 cats. I am already enough of a cat slave.

My vet (also my mate), has already messaged me saying I can put up a poster in her studio. Again. But my past posters did not work. Anybody good at heartstrings tugging text and design that can help me create a poster that will maximise my chances of finding this tiny scrap a good home ?

Our one local cat charity is permemntly packed to the rafters and in the past they have been determinedly guilt tripping when I have taken them dumpees. Like I am the meanest person ever if I don't want to be utterly overrun by cats. So that is a non starter. If I go there I'll come away convinced I deserve to go to hell if I don't keep it.

I need a shit hot "good home wanted" poster.

And for tiny kitten to stop looking at me with big, mournful eyes. With added little fluffy tail.

And for DS to stop trying to name it. Doesn't even look like an Emma. Might not even be a girl.

NotEmma has at least escaped the "drowned in a bucket" fate of so many tiny unwanted kittens here. Can anybody help me capitalise on her "less than averagely awful" luck and maximise her/his chances of being somebody's spoiled moggy for 20 contended, spoiled rotten years ?

I will go and try and take a picture to help the creative juices flow. But NotEmma is quite scared and is under the duvet, curled into DSS's armpit. And my iPad does not have a flash.

That is all.

OP put her on FB, or ask the rescue to put her on their FB page. Also other rescues further afield. By your mention of Milan I guess you're in Lombardy, if you find a rescue nearer Milan or other larger towns you might be lucky. No need for Brits, plenty of Italians of the non agricultural variety also love cats. My local rescue regularly puts up cats in different areas and have recuperated and rehomed successfully from Puglia and Sardinia. Look up private non ENPA rescues around the Milan area and they will probably be able to help. I know a couple in Brianza if that helps, it might be too far for you though.

Melassa what would be a good search string ? Protezione dei Gatti, santuario per i gatti ? I'll have a look and see what running nearer the city.

NotEmma is tearing around my classroom. I brought her in to video her nether regions. Then she cried when I took her back to the bedroom. She has decided she/he quite likes humans and will SCREAM if denied their company. so she/he is in here with me while I try and prepare lessons. With a new kind of pen decoration "helping".

Massive purr for such a tiny kitty.

Oh god. She is eating her own tail Grin

Here is the video. There are several close ups of her/his privates throughout. It was easier than trying to take loads of blurry stills of wriggly kitty.

Try Gattili milano, gattili Brianza, gatti da adottare zona milanese or whatever other area you can think of. Although it looks like you'll be keeping herGrin. One cat more or less is not going to make any difference at this point, it's not like you'll need to change your car...

Mermaid

Train ride from Milan. Or ... just one short, cheap EasyJet flight away.

Free tour (and kitten) of the part of Italy no tourist has ever set foot in. With castles. Genuine rice fields. Bird Santuary. Open air markets . Little old ladies who shout at you in dialect v. authentically.

Seriously don't understand why tourists don't come here. Is fab.

Apart from the fog
And the mosquitoes
And the insane drivers who think their tractor makes them immortal.

We also have Madonna Aperition infested Fake Holy Water place up the road that was on Italian TV and the entire country traipsed down the track to get cured at (not) a few summers ago.

Other attractions include tour of our Church of the Gay Sex in the Confessional Blackmail Plot that saw policemen dressed up in dog collars undercover, the priest de-frocked and Big Media Circus plus a Court Case.

Eat yer heart out Firenze and Rome Grin

We are well worth a visit.

Entry fee: Adoption of cute kitten

Melassa You were one of the few on my side ! Don't join in with them. It is hard enough as it is when NotEmma is curled into your hair and batting the iPad with a teeny tiny paw.

I think she likes me.

Another one, when you already have 8, is only 12.5% extra cat.

Or if you did it by weight you would hardly notice, I'm sure.

Don't worry about DP - they can stack, if he only has one layer of cats he is effectively an amateur cat bed.

You're not in the lodigiano are you? My friend managed 6 months before becoming suicidal. She was in a tiny village, everyone was related to everyone else and the social life revolved around one bar and one church. And the mosquitoes used to fly in formation after 9pm.

Surely Facebook is the way to go...

The problem with a Facebook is that anyone with a five second interest in a tiny kitty might want her. And then lose interest when she is less tiny and cute.

If I put up a poster at the vet's well... at least it will be seen by the type of person inclined to go to the vet's when an animal is ill, or could do with preventative treatment. Because not every person around here with a pet "believes" in vets cos ".... just an animal"

Lots of Italians are just as soppy and responsible as Brits tend to be, but some aren't so I have to be a bit careful about where she might end up. There are people on my facebook I wouldn't trust with the care of an amoeba

Awww.mShe just conked out on myarm.

Melassa

Shuddap about the murder. You'll put off my budding tourist trap industry and I'll never re-home her.

There's been another one since. Not sure if it made national news or not. Although it was a great advert for why cocaine addicts that have severe mental health issues probably shouldn't be released five minutes after they are arrested for smashing the place up.

I'very watched the video. You are fooling no one

I'd like to see you video a tiny cat's bottom and not coo a bit. I have coo-titus. I coo at the pidgeons in the portico. It proves NOTHING.

You're not in the lodigiano are you?

I'm not anywhere people have ever heard of. Like seriously, no one. Even the Milanese look shocked when they turn up for the fancy pool/disco and find a whole town attached. And then they move here.

Like we did.

I love it here. ( aside from the murders, the Priest Sex Scandles, the fake holy magic water scams, the kitten dumping and the shit schools) The mosquitoes are a bastard though. They like foreign food. And I am the only exotic thing on the menu.

NotEmma is sleeping like a... really tired baby cat. Curled in the crook of my arm. Is v. cute. I have to find her somebody seriously lovely. She's been through an awful lot for something so tiny.

His whiskers are twitching madly. Deep sleep, big dreams.

Enrico is good, it's a perfect cat name, a bit like Trevor.

I didn't know there'd been another murder since! Mind you, I divested myself of my telly in the Berlusconi years (too many tits and bums and Berlusca's gurneying face) and I only ever flick through the cronaca nera in the papers at work nowadays, so it's entirely possible I'd missed it. You could offer kitty tours with a gruesome places tour, for that bit of extra spice. I hear it's quite the thing in Hollywood. Maybe chuck in a quick stop off at the madonna included in the price.

Ohhh, NotTrevor is a good name ! !

Yup the pizzaiolo at the fancy pool/disco broke loads of windows in town. Got arrested. Let go. Went home. "Disguised" himself by smearing shaving foam on his face. Went out at the crack of dawn and stabbed to death some poor pensioner who going off on his paper round (pensions being what they are). The old guy's son came rushing down to help his dad and got knifed too I think.

Really fucking horrible. But without the photogenic ( and odd) twins to add a twist and a WhoDunIt as part of the mix, don't think the media paid much attention.

NotTrevor thinks his feet are mucho fun.
