Just tricked her into eating a worming pill. Concealed in a piece of cheese which seemed to do the job! Now she's out prowling round her garden. Smile

ElizaDontlittle · 29/04/2017 12:47

What it is with cats and cheese?! I thought it was mice and cheese? too much Tom and Jerry

She is out patrolling the neighbourhood - but like Ollivander was saying she hates being out with the door shut - sits and miaow at it. She likes to keep coming in to say hello and back out again. She too was a stray who had to have all but 2 teeth removed when she was rescued and I have always wondered if that affects the accuracy of the age estimate.

She's really off her dry food the last week or so - she's off to the cattery tomorrow til Friday as I'm going away but I think I'll take her to the vets when we are both home to look at those last two teeth.

I agree at the range of handsome and beautiful cats here - Weeds that's such a fab photo and Each is she recovered yet - and are you?

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 13:17

Had to share this with you all as I'm so pleased.
Considering it hasn't really been that long, what a result ! I'm pretty sure someone now loves her "big brother"Smile

Watcher - that is adorable!

Aaaahhhhh, so lovely. "Big brother" looks like a gentle soul. What a relief.

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 13:34

He's almost 3 1/2 but still behaves like a puppy most of time, that said,he is a very loving & has been brilliant with the kittens from the start,I trust him 100%.

He tried so hard to make friends with our old girl, she didn't want to know!

HemanOrSheRa · 29/04/2017 13:35

That is lovely Watcher Smile. Just to warn you - they will now gang up on you Grin.

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 13:58

Oh I'm expecting it Heman!
The Hell kitty is already causing chaos, climbing, knocking things over, constantly in the dogs water bowl. She follows me everywhere & pounces on me when I least expect it.
She also likes licking my eyebrows which I've never had before.Blush

Weedsnseeds1 · 29/04/2017 14:04

The lab will be training the kitten to open food cupboards for him watcher!

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 15:13

Probably Weeds, with his strength & her agility I think I may need to evaluate my storage system! Grin
He's just let her play with his favourite tennis ball, not even "little big brother" gets that honour...

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2017 15:21

Fang cat is whining now as I have ham AND extra mature cheddar. Which are two of his favourite things. Try and feed him mild cheese and he spits it out Grin

You need to develop a 'ritual' of sorts, whereby doing X at such and such time - e.g. going to the fridge and saying THE WORD - leads to distribution of bounty. Just giving in to whining means you'll be whined at. A lot. Wink

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2017 15:28

Oh I don't give in. He gets a treat when he doesn't whine Wink

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 29/04/2017 15:30

Develop a 'word' as well. (Or a phrase.) Smile

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2017 15:32

Does sit count? He has to do sit and paw before he gets one!

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 29/04/2017 15:37

It doesn't matter what you use - as long as you are consistent about using it for that particular purpose only. (And you can never poodle fake it.)

Toddlerteaplease · 29/04/2017 15:38

I just love all these Ollie posts. I want to keep him!

AnneElliott · 29/04/2017 15:43

My one is in a handy box.

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2017 15:46

I only say paw for a treat so that works. I started it because his logic went "I sit for treat. So I no stand up. Then I get treats all the time" HmmGrin
Toddler - you could have had him when he was whining at me at 6am to wake up and fuss him!

Our dcat brought a mouse in through the cat flap. It was still very much alive. Dd got the cat out of the way but my mouse rescue attempts ended in failure, mouse escaped round the back of the kitchen units. Not seen or heard it since! Have borrowed a humane trap from next door, just in case. Am hoping it's managed to find its way outside.

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 16:02

What beautiful eyes AnneElliot
*
Olivander* how clever!
I would never have thought that a cat can be taught to sit & give paw,it will now be my mission to train this feral felineGrin

cozietoesie · 29/04/2017 16:02

That's why it's good to set a time also - or you can use an 'event' like returning to the house after being out. Smile

WatcherOfTheNight · 29/04/2017 16:03

That is one thing I haven't missed is gifts,Old girl had a liking for frogs,I'd find dismembered bits all around the place, poor things.

Ollivander84 · 29/04/2017 16:12
