Devastated over the loss of my boy

He went downhill so fast, they did everything they could but he was pts. He was only 9mnths and was so special to me. I haven't eaten or slept, I see him everywhere. He wasn't like a cat he followed me everywhere, played fetch, came when I clicked. He even would let me know when he needed the litter tray and was so fussy about it being clean. He liked me to stay with him whilst he ate and he hated being apart from me, would cry for me. He was a ragdoll and so different from my Moggys. I'm missing spending my mornings with him, and having him sleep on my pillow with me.

Is it wrong I want another ragdoll? Not to replace my boy but to get back a tiny fragment of what he brought to me. I had never had a ragdoll before him but I've read they often have dog like personalities?

Ragdoll's are photogenic..although Neville doesn't normally like having his photo taken Grin

@Jonsnowsghost Neville is just so handsome, his eyes are so bright. How long did it take for him to reach his full size?

What a tumfy. Smile

Jonsnowsghost · 11/04/2017 17:58

He's got a lot of fans Grin He's only 2 so he's not fully grown yet! They are fully grown somewhere between 3 and 4 due to being large breeds. He's on the small size for a ragdoll at 4.8kg but he's incredibly fussy with food so that's probably why...

I love them and I'd love a little kitten but I don't have the space and I think Neville would disown me!

HemanOrSheRa · 11/04/2017 18:18

Oh Neville is so handsome Envy. My two pull stupid faces and close their eyes when I try and take a photo. Like turning teenagers.

HemanOrSheRa · 11/04/2017 18:18

Gurning not turning. Thank you phone.

Jonsnowsghost · 11/04/2017 19:03

He normally does that! It's once in a blue moon I actually get one ha ha.

Here is a comparison photo I took...teeny kitten to large cat! And he's not even fully grown..

Oh my goodness! Look how his coat colour has developed. Amazing! He is a gorgeous floof monster Smile.

PorklessPie · 11/04/2017 20:34

Oh wow Neville is super, I love how his coat has changed. In the kitten pic you can hardly see his dark patches on his back and look how bold they are now! Is he an indoor cat? That was part of the contract we agreed to that she will be indoor only.
This is only for serious people- She will actually give a kiss. If you put your head on hers and rub her then put your nose to hers she will kick you in the mouth! (No I haven't just eaten tuna I'm a vegan Wink). It wasn't a fluke it's every time we do this, just amazing. My daughter even said "she is like a sister".

Aw. I love the smell of kitten and puppy breath Smile. I used to have kisses with our guinea pigs. It was so lovely!

Jonsnowsghost · 11/04/2017 20:50

Yes he's indoor (although he likes to go on my balcony) he sometimes goes out the front door onto the communal landing but runs back inside as soon as he hears a door opening! He's a big wuss he wouldn't do well as an outdoor cat!
It's amazing to see the changes..these are his face patches..i also love how big and fluffy his tail got 😍

The tail on ragdolls is fantastic and they just seem to know how special they are. I bet everyone fusses him. The children are loving spoiling Maureen (who they have nicknamed mimzy) Smile

She slept all night cuddled up to me! She is upstairs playing with the children now, she doesn't want to leave them!

She's so cute!! Neville sleeps next to me and normally doesn't get up until I do but he decided he wanted to play with my full length mirror at 5:30 this morning Hmm

PorklessPie · 12/04/2017 12:07

My boy always slept on my pillow and would get me up at 4 every single day, but I enjoyed that time alone with him. I'm such an introvert that he was my only friend, so my girl means so much to me.

She loves the cat tree, Malcolm loved it too but the three moggies never went on it so it's nice to see it being in use again Smile

Has she had 'First Mirror' yet? Smile

PorklessPie · 12/04/2017 12:56

No! I will try her later! She isn't bothered about the moggies one bit, just walked past them and got on with it. She is so laid back with minimum feet attacks Grin.
How wrong is it to smell her breath when she yawns Blush.

cozietoesie · 12/04/2017 13:26

First Mirror is wonderful. Smile Unfortunately, it's also usually Only Mirror - but Hey Ho.

PorklessPie · 20/04/2017 10:20

Hi all Smile so I thought I would come back, and tell you how my lovely 'mimzy' is now doing! She is fantastic, so loving and calm. Loves being around the children and part of their games but at night sleeps on my pillow and feels the need to kick me all over my face in the middle of the night. Here she is being as pretty as ever, oh and I have to admit she has her own Instagram Blush. I'm not the least bit technical or with the times but it had to be done.

She has grown! She is absolutely beautiful and sounds like she is already becoming a wonderful companion. Can I ask how much she weighs now and what adult size/weight is expected to be? Thanks.

PorklessPie · 23/04/2017 07:30

She is going to the vets next week for a check up so I will find out then what she is now weighing. She definitely is bigger.

Ragdolls are one are the larger breed cats, not as big as mainecoon cats but I think around 15lb. Plus they take longer to reach full size than a moggy. It can take a ragdoll around 3 years. I'm so excited to see her cost change.

She is just beautiful! I am so glad that she is helping your heart to heal. I have a 10 month old ragdoll who I got after losing both my old dogs within 3 weeks of each other last year. He is my first cat and I can't imagine the house without him now.....although walking around in bare feet has become a thing of the past!

PorklessPie · 23/04/2017 10:46

She is 15 weeks so looking pretty large already. She definitely rules the house and follows everyone around, she is upstairs now with the children playing.
What colour is your ragdoll @JBH316
