/feline soulmate.

Bibi throws affection at anyone (I guess as a holdover from being a stray) but Zara is a one-person cat, and I am hers.

Sometimes I get horrified by the thought that one day she won't be here anymore. She's a healthy 6 year old fgs!!! It's just that I've never had a bond with an animal like this before.

Op. I also dread the thought that mine won't be here as well. And they are both healthy 6 year olds. I don't think reading posts on here about cats that have died helps TBH.

I understand perfectly. I did feel a slight twinge of guilt the other day when my OH said to a couple of friends " when weeds has been working away, blobcat can hear her walking down the road and he rushes down the stairs to meet her. The pair of them just push me out of the way..." . Not so guilty that OH will get the first cuddle next time, mind youSmile

I stress about this too, ilove. And I worry even more that I might shuffle off the old mortal coil before the boys do.

MCat, my B&W mog is so loving, but a person needs to get to know him first. Little M would be snapped up straight away, being the little pixie cat that he is. I'd like them to be re-homed together, should anything to happen to me.

Am investigating Will options, to ensure the best I can that the boys are kept together. Proud to be a Proper Mad Cat Lady. Smile

Ditto...DP is first in line for cat duties if I should pass and if for any reason that's not possible they'll live with my parents.

My parents have a six acre plot in the countryside with chickens....DCats would have a brilliant time while weeping inside to grieve me of course

I worry what will happen to Harry if something happens to both of us. Obviously if I go first DH will look after him and vice versa, but I don't have anyone who could take him if we both go. DM was lined up for it but is 85, nearly blind, struggles to walk and has a very nervous cat of her own.

Does anyone have any ideas? Our families are all elderly and we have no children of our own and I don't think DH's children would take him. I can't bear the thought of him not having someone to pander to his every whim take care of him.

There's a charity that takes cares of dogs if this happens, called the Cinammon Trust. I'm sure there must be a similar one for kitties?
My mum would have the girls if I died in a fire/crossing the street/in some kind of ridiculous Darwin-award worthy accident (which is truly the way I believe I will go). She has dogs and rabbits but a big-split level house in the country with an outside area that can be divided into sections. I might actually be living with her for a while when my current contract finishes if I don't get the next job I want, so I guess we can trial it!

I've seen other people post on here about The Cinnamon Trust so they must take on our feline friends too.
Cats Protection have a scheme that they will take in your cat too, Cat Guardians I think it is.

Okay no joke, this is what I said to Bibi when she was shoving in as I'm trying to work: 'Bibi, don't walk on the computer babe. Mummy needs that to make money for you'. /Insane.

I'm so glad it's not just me, I've actually said to my cat "I'm the one working to pay these bills so you can live in comfort" whilst huffing at her stomping all over my desk Grin

I have the most amazing bond with her I never thought it was possible. Can't bear the thought of being parted from her. Enjoy every minute spent together.

Oh God, I'm glad I'm not the only one who patiently explains to my cats why I have to certain things that don't involve them! sometimes I sing them lullabies Blush (but that's between us, OK?)

Vino, thanks for reminding me about Cat Guardians. I was wracking my brains to remember which Trust it was. I know RSPCA offer a similar thing, but I'm unsure of their "no kill" policy.
