I have found the Christmas period a tough reminder of the loss of our Siamese boy cat. However I couldn't have coped without the support from The Litter Tray. In memory of all the dearly departed cats here is a photo of my boy. He was truly the bestest

Wtffgs take your time. Bengal boy could never have replaced my Siamese. It was just a happy coincidence. This weekend I'm going back home to look after the cat that I raised from 2 weeks old whilst my parents are away. He is now 15 and still going strong. He is a lovely massive tabby and I will never regret the two hourly feeds, no matter how sleep deprived I was. We take them in and love them. That's what we do. It hurts when they pass away but we gave them a lovely life and we should we proud of that Flowers

Look at your blossom that is such a loving cuddle. What a lucky cat to have had so much love in her life. And the same for all of these cats. What wonderful lives they have all had.
Wtffgs you will never replace your dear cat, but you are right there are so many rescues out there waiting for their forever home. When we went to look for ours, I could have taken so many home with me. Heartbreaking really but they say when you rescue one you are helping two, because you free up a space for another rescue to be taken in.

Oh my goodness Blossom clearly adored you. It takes a special relationship for a cat to snuggle you that much

Such beautiful, beautiful cats. And how special we all must be as they chose to spend their lives with us!

This is Harlequin, the most beautiful cat that ever lived. He died a year ago age 17. Still miss him like crazy.

I still have another cat, but I'm not ready to get another one, yet. My mum says that when you get a new cat, you aren't disrespecting your previous one, you are actually acknowledging how much you loved the one you have lost.

Cat 2 is currently sitting in a cardboard box in front of the woodstove. He's as happy as Larry!

What is it about cats and cardboard boxes?! Our cats adore them. So much for the expensive cat beds...HmmGrin

I haven't got a photo on this phone.

My previous scrawny little black useless furry friend was pts 7 years ago.

She was probably the stupidest cat I've ever met but I loved her so much and miss her still every day.

Flowers to all those who have lost their cats...

Max is such a beauty, as are all the other cats mentioned here. I would love to foster unwanted cats/kittens again one day. Just waiting for the lottery win Grin

Haggis and Kedi my two beloved Tonkinese who died within a few months of one another aged 18, Kedi died October 2015 and Haggis Feb 2016.
I have more cats now but those two are irreplaceable.
My new ones have their own places in our hearts of course but 18 years of love leaves a big hole to fill.

This is my Maine Coon Bear. He was PTS on his 12th birthday. He left a huge hole in our hearts. Watching him become ill so quickly and violently was heartbreaking. We know it was for the best but it was too soon. We didn't have him in out lives for long enough. Whenever he walked into a room he made us smile. Just thinking about him made us smile (still does tbh). He was the biggest, gentlest, clown of a cat. Our remaining two haven't been the same since.

Blossom my Tigger used to do that to me. He used to put his legs either side of my neck and nuzzle. We would spend hours like that, from the very first day we were together. The love I received from that cat is what woke me up to what wonderful creatures they are. He's sadly gone. Another taken too young by illness, almost 2 years ago. I'm starting to feel ready for another cat in our lives, but we have 2 15yr olds and I don't think they would take too kindly to a new one. We lost Tigger's sister 6 1/2 yrs ago. No idea what happened to her. Just disappeared a month after DS1 was born. It was as though she'd hung around until she felt she wasn't needed anymore; but I did still need that ratbag bag of troublesome bones. Miss both of them (but don't miss them peeing in the house or on my bags the night before going away surprisingly Grin)

Here she is, randomly asleep on one of those cheapy greenhouses. She liked to find strange places to sleep, or would be fast asleep on DH's motorbike in the morning, would open one eye to check it was him, flex her claws to let him know she wouldn't be moved, and make sure he was terrified enough to get me to remove her so he could go to work. She was awesome!

And here's a picture of Tigger with Bear. Totally unrelated, but Bear was so so much bigger. Tigger was the older cat who seemed to take Bear under his wing. They were the best of friends and Bear wasn't the same when we lost Tigger.

I miss the desperately fierce hunt for snuggles and cuddles. Thankfully, we still have another old cat who is a terrific little old lad and affectionate in his way. However, he'd never come up to you and head and flank-butt you with sheer, overwhelming love. He cats - he purrs and miaows for food, sometimes comes to than you for food in case there's anymore going Wink He's a fab cat and I will miss him terribly when the time comes but he doesn't have that craving for human company that she did. That's what I miss.
