I'm memory of our cats

I have found the Christmas period a tough reminder of the loss of our Siamese boy cat. However I couldn't have coped without the support from The Litter Tray. In memory of all the dearly departed cats here is a photo of my boy. He was truly the bestest

I don't think re-living memories, painful or otherwise, are harmful, better than bottling them up, (IMO) RP.

It's comforting (for me anyway) to know there are people who understand loss.

I miss our lovely girl so much, it was about 2 months ago that she was pts. We are in the process of possibly taking on a new cat whose owner is dying of a terminal illness. I have very mixed feelings about whether it is too soon or how it will feel to have a new cat in the house, let alone the idea that her previous mum is leaving the world. I feel like it would be amazing to give this cat a home though. I hope it works out.
I'm so sorry to read your stories but it is lovely to see the pictures of your fluffies (sorry I can't post mine as I am weird about photos) and to read your stories.

Flowers
For your losses and kind words.
Definitely no 'good time' for parting from our precious pets just thankful for the time their lives shared with ours.

Such a nice thread. So sorry for anyone missing their beloved cat. I'm mourning the loss of my sweet Amber. She was a tiny orange little miss. We had to put her to sleep two days before Christmas. I still break into tears when I think about her.

Our teenage hood cat Pepper. The most regal and stately looking cat ever. Died in 2009. Don't have any photos of Dragon, Chloe and Merlin. 😓

This is William. He was a stray who was left behind by his previous owners and lived in the service road behind our house. He eventually adopted me and then went to live with DM. He was only with us six months but he was loved and we all still miss him. He had a lovely nature and deserved better than the life he had

My beautiful Willow. Pts 7 weeks ago and still struggling with it. She was only a baby and I miss her so much. Feels like the lovely people on here were the only ones who understood

So sorry for all of your losses. Such lovely cats.
Meemolly I think that sounds like a wonderful thing to do if you feel you are able. You will never replace your dear old girl, but a new cat would go some way to filling the cat shaped hole in your life. Good luck whatever you decide.

Flowers to everyone, I had to delete my screensaver pic of ASBO-cat as it made me teary every time I saw it so can't upload a pic of her from here.

They're all beautiful Flowers

Cat-human relationships are very private. People see you out with a dog but cats relate to you at home. I really miss my little furry buddy who'd curl up next to me when it was time to go to sleep. Sad

What beautiful cats, thank you all for sharing. Meemolly, I understand how you feel. I could never replace my Siamese boy but I felt the loss so badly and girl cat was getting lonely. Our Bengal arrived in our lives, and although he isn't a replacement, we absolutely adore him and think Siamese boy would approve. I remember being told on here that a cat will enter your life at the right time for both of you

I think there is something quite beautiful about giving a home to a cat and healing each other. I think it does work both ways

I lost my beautiful boy in March when he was hit by a car. - he was nearly 2 years old. I miss him so much - still absolutely heartbroken.

But I am now tentatively looking to adopt a new kitty. I swore I wouldn't have another one but have discovered I NEED a cat to love my life - hopefully I will find one soon that needs me too.

Mrsdolittle your boy looks very content and happy in that photo. I bet a cat will find you soon, I certainly believe that they pick us rather than vice versa.

I understand the heartbreak, I commissioned a portrait of my Siamese boy and got my first and only tattoo in his memory BlushSmile. I'm sure some might see it as a bit over the top but he meant the world to me and DH and I wanted to commemorate him forever. I don't even particularly like tattoos!

Thanks Rusty. He was lush.

Think the tattoo was a lovely idea.

A lot of people just don't get how much we love our cats. It's lovely to find a forum where people understand

Mrsdolittle I am so sorry for your loss. I agree with Rusty a cat is out there waiting for you. I can't tell you how much better my home feels with my two new cats in it.

I can't bear to think of another cat "taking her place" but on the other hand, she was a rescue and the best memorial to her is to rescue another cat - in time though.

What a lovely thread. Such beautiful cats.

My Blossom was a very old lady, she came to us in 2003 and the rescue thought she was 4 or 5. I knew that she was getting older and more frail. This summer was her bonus summer, she spent it lazing around in the sun and cuddling up at night. She was PTS after us spending a day snuggled on the sofa together, as I knew that the visit to the vets that evening would be her last. I miss the way she snuggled right in to me, and was such a part of our lives. RIP Blossom, I hope that you're running around in the sun, wherever you are xxx
