I feel I know the names of a lot of MN cats but I often get confused about which cat owns which human. Shall we do a little show and tell?

This is PuffinCat (Cindy). We've had her about three months. She was rescued by CPL with her kittens. They think she's about three years old but we suspect she might be younger. She loves attacking my feet and DH's hands, crawling under the duvet and snuggling on the sofa, but rarely on our laps. And turkey breast slices, she goes nuts forb those. She hates plastic bags and dogs and doesn't care much for going outside, or for Dreamies. We suspect she is a bit hard of thinking as she still hasn't figured out the cat flap isn't a one way system

Lots of beautiful cats.... and this is Sev - he's the son of a pregnant rescue. He's a year old now.

Ha! Yes Mantra. We thought he was Irish but he actually a Mexican Lucha Libra Wrestler. See his scary, wrestling face .

Fluffy that is how I got my girl. She is gorgeous. She was left by her owners in a block of flats next to our office. No one realised she'd been abandoned because she was always around for a cuddle. Then she got really skinny, dirty and because she was un neutered, all the Toms in the area came running.

I'd actually been off on extended annual leave for the school summer holidays while this was going on as DS was only 6. I went back to work and watched one day of her trapped in bushes by 4/5/6 male cats ALL DAY. The noise was awful. Me and DS went and catnapped her at twilight.

Sadly some people don't see pets as family members Fluffy. Some even acquiring them to match their decor.

I used to live in an area where I found many pets abandoned by their "owners", they'd just leave them behind when they went back home. Made me feel sick and downhearted at how some folk view little beings who depend on them as "accessories".

Yes Mantra we see it all the time. It really upsets me. Little Pip had a lovely owner, he loved her. Until he wanted to move. Then he left her 'in the care' of a neighbour who'd taken in one of her kittens. But he is a big old un neutered Tom . And then they moved and left both of them. The Tommer is still around and healthy. He is a bruiser male with huge jowls, we and others feed him. He is definitely NOT a cuddly cat that you could take out of his environment, I don't think. He's got a snuggly bed, food and a little scratch if he wants it.

I know Fluffy, I just don't get it... She's just such a lovely girl as well and apart from bringing me "gifts" she is very well behaved. (Better behaved than the children certainly!) As other posters have said, I think it's very common and people seem to think cats can just fend for themselves.

This is Delilah, 5 years old and came all the way to California from England with me. I am currently teaching her 'come' and 'up' (on to my lap).
and clearly not teaching her to stay off the work surfaces when I'm having a clear-out!

Oh this thread is cheering me up no end. M and Fluffy the portraits are the MOST. Even looking at Little M makes me cackle.

Have just taken an extremely expensive cab to work (knackered foot) to be told a crisis has arisen and I am no longer employed. Won't even be paid at Xmas. In the meantime, Mr C is on luxury Waitrose at 70p a tiny can and he's not impressed.

If we had a portrait of Seniorboy we could do a litter tray calendar....

I volunteer at a shelter, and fall in love on a regular basis! Sammy, little black boy, found in a bin and now has a home. Biff, lovely lovely boy, found a home 2 weeks ago. Butterscotch coloured Flash, neurological issues and there is a waitlist of volunteers wanting to take him home for fospice (hospice foster at home)

Love the idea if a cat that talks like Joanna Lumley! In my mind my boy talks like Chris Eubank. Lana - you don't know anything about book keeping / accounts do you? If so I will happily pay you to do mine while you sort yourself out with a new job.

Here is my boy who was found as a stray in the back streets of Leeds. He had adapted to life in the country and is a fine mouser.

Hector is at the top and Hamish is on the bottom. They are brothers and I rescued them 8 years ago come January. Hamish doesn't mind being picked up and cuddled and once in a very blue moon will actually sit on my lap! Hector still freaks out if he's picked up. He's got a heart murmur now, but it doesn't appear to be slowing him down that much. They are 14 now. Hamish has never done much - gets up for breakfast and has a wee rest, then elevenses and a wee rest, lunch and a wee rest... you get the picture. Hector catches stuff, but never shares. Hamish can't be arsed catching anything...

I was so ridiculously pleased to have produced a comeback at the time it hasn't sunk in yet.

Am hiding as everyone else in the office is terrified they will be next (and I daren't talk to them as they may well be) so a bit lonely. Might nip in early with Mr C for a snuggle.

Weeds that is the loveliest offer. Unless you run a publishing company or a big website, I would be the worst accountant in the world. You'd be better off with Mr C.

My 'we are not having another cat' parents. Scottish fold/British short hair cross. Not decided if he's intelligent pretending to be think or is actually thick. But he's gorgeous and he knows it. He also blends in perfectly with their decor!
