We live in the countryside and we were walking when we found the tiny one. I took her to the vet straightaway to get her checked. She has nasty diahorea but is quite bright otherwise. They gave me a deworming, a probiotic thingy...I try to give her kitty milk but she is not keen. She drinks water and some specialised food that I bought from the vet. I'm planning on offering food every 3 hours : milk-food-water...she is asleep on heating pad on low. What else can I do !? I'm really worried she is not drinking the milk :(

Fingers crossed for beautiful Bella xx

Dehydration can make you very lethargic - at least, it did me when I was pregnant. I needed a drip to rehydrate me and I remember feeling that I didn't even have the energy to blink my eyes. Maybe the stomach problem is because she's so young that normally she'd still be feeding from her mother? If so I imagine that it will settle as she develops? I'm sure the vet will tell you what to feed her.
Glad the update was positive.

I'm so touched by all of you!! I'm about to drop the poo sample now to the vet!

Bless....she looks like a complete sweetheart. All fingers and toes are crossed for her. And claws too (I have two adult cats, two kittens we've had since birth and a Cat's Protection foster cat so that's a lot of crossed claws).

ElizaDontlittle · 28/11/2016 09:05

Oh poor little girl! I was so excited for the first part of your thread and then sad towards the end - I really hope beautiful Bella pulls through ok, you must be shattered and emotional OP, thinking of you and the DC too. Flowers

roundandroundthehouses · 28/11/2016 09:23

Keeping it all crossed for your tough little Bella. RoundCat is a bit arthritic round the back these days but will cross as many claws as she can.

crystalballbroke · 28/11/2016 10:05

What a lovely person you are op.

cozietoesie · 28/11/2016 10:15

Good for her.

Did you manage any sleep at all last night?

Showmetheminstrels · 28/11/2016 10:47

Yay Bellacat!

Toddlerteaplease · 28/11/2016 10:57

Another GO Bella. Come on little girl, you've found a lovely human slave and have everything to live for! FlowersStarStar

Yay for Bella.

Fab update. Go BellaSmile

New update - they manage to up her temperature from 35 to 38, it's very good news. Her blood glucose is good. She has been eating on her own and with a bit of help. The vet said unless they find something nasty in the fecal sample she should be fine with the right course of medicine. They had many kittens like her in the past and they did survive given the right treatment. Now we just have to hope that there is no nasty surprises from the poo sample. I'm starting to hope a bit more now but not too much.

Oh - she's lovely!

It's a good sign that she has a good appetite. As another poster has said, a runny bum is to be expected at the moment - different food, wormer, stress etc. Hopefully with ll your loving care she will settle happily and in a year's time you will be bragging about what a big, beautiful shine cat she is!

cozietoesie · 28/11/2016 13:54

This sounds good - she sounds like a little scrapper. (And she'll be receiving such loving care from the vet nurses. Wink)

cozietoesie · 28/11/2016 13:55

PS - what meds is the vet actually giving her? Smile

user1477462353 · 28/11/2016 14:22

She is getting fluids into a catheter and some anti-biotic X, don't know which one. I'm calling again at 4 or 5 to get an update.

Sounds good. Looking forward to the update. Smile

loveyogalovelife · 28/11/2016 14:29

Following; so happy she has lovely caring parents like you and is getting the right care from the vet. Keep us updated!

Yawnyawnallday · 28/11/2016 14:41

Utterly shameless place marking- we unexpectedly got a kitten in much the same way when I was 11. Little scrap lived to the age of 19.

It's just so weird stroking our other cats after looking after Bella! The cat above is 11 pounds and Bella is a bit more than a pound !
