Hi all,

This subject has probably been done lots of times so apologies in advance. Got a home check tomorrow for an indoor cat who we haven't actually met yet. What should I expect to be looked at and what questions may I be asked?

So far I have answers to where the cat would eat and use litter tray, where it could have privacy in first few weeks, what vets I may sign up to, feeding schedule, what I'm going to buy etc. can anybody think of anything else?

Thank you

Think my short list up to now is Millie, Frankie and Minnie

She's currently scratching my sofa and chewing my dining chair!

Pixie is my favourite out of the suggestions so far. I would definitely go for something playful and/or mischievous. Just googled it and a few suggestions I like are:
Luna (nn loony! Grin)
Mimi (short for Screaming Mimi apparently?!)
Peaseblossom (One of the fairies from a Midsummer night's dream)
Skittle
Xena (Xena warrior princess)

NameChange30 · 21/02/2016 20:30

Ooh just spotted Minnie (the Minx), like that too!

MrsMoggy · 21/02/2016 20:32

Luna is good and xena. Id like Buffy but no way my husband would go for that

Just googled Disney cat names. There are lots. My faves for a girl cat:
Dinah
Duchess
Sassy

MrsMoggy · 21/02/2016 20:38

I considered duchess but I associate it with all white cats now after the aristocats. Marie was my fave disney cat but DH said no to that too!

In that case I vote Luna, Minnie or Xena.
If you have a shortlist you could try saying them to her and see how she reacts?!

MrsMoggy · 21/02/2016 20:57

She's not shy of the hooded litter tray. But blimey she just pooed and it absolutely stinks!! It was solid though. Guessing just change of food/nerves?

Sparklingbrook · 21/02/2016 20:59

Solid and in the tray. I would take that. Grin

But yes nerves and different food will affect things.

FinestGrundyTurkey · 21/02/2016 21:02

She's lovely :-)

I like Luna best I think

timtam23 · 21/02/2016 21:05

She is lovely! I also have a white cat with grey tabby patches, they are fab. Mine's a boy so not much help with names! I like Minnie or Pixie out of those suggested. For playthings - big paper carrier bags, like Primark ones, with the handles cut off (to stop heads/necks getting caught), and a big cardboard box, all very popular here.

MrsMoggy · 21/02/2016 21:38

Her current spot Smile

That's my lap by the way in my rather hideous dressing gown

I'm so happy for you!!

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 21/02/2016 22:13

Aww, so sweet. She looks very comfy already. What does she make of your DS? I hope she is happy to have little one cuddles too.

MrsMoggy · 21/02/2016 22:18

She didn't see much of him as he had to go to bed ready for preschool in the morning, so tomorrow afternoon will be the test

FinestGrundyTurkey · 21/02/2016 22:24

She does look at home Smile

NameChange30 · 21/02/2016 23:02

Let us know how it goes when DS meets her and also what name you pick!

MrsMoggy · 22/02/2016 08:00

I hardly slept last night wondering what she was up to downstairs! She didn't bother coming in with us for the night. Found her on the sofa this morning, she was ready for her breakfast. Had another poo which absolutely stinks again. She's watching my son eat breakfast at the moment and sniffing his feet. Still not given her a name!

We put the poos in a doggy poo bag immediately and put it straight outside (I have a bin by the back door - that I can throw a bag in from the window Blush, this is then emptied into the big bin each time I go outside.

MrsMoggy · 22/02/2016 10:46

Did as suggested and had a look at some old cat name threads, someone called their cat Nora cos she was Batty! I think that's a great idea and I actually really like Nora
