We need to make them more desirable.

I'm not creative with words so one of you will have to think of something.

Sylvester & Tom are not allowed --making the rules up as I go- because no one watches those cartoons anymore and they wont have the faintest idea who Sylvester is.

Stormtroopers.

Pierrot?
Piano?
Dice?

Shirokuro is Japanese for black and white if a former neighbour of mine who had a b/w cat with this name is to be trusted.

Black cats with white paws are socks

Black cats bit of white Guinness (ideal for men)

Personally I love black/black and white cats

chiaroscuro - obviously with a shortened day to day name, maybe Cira.
Mono (chrome)

Tuxedo cat names

Manuel
James Bond
Ron and Ron
Charlie (as in Chaplin)

I've had a few with titles so thinks like

Lady Jane or Duke pussyfoot of catkins hall.

Out of interest - does anyone know how long this has been going on for? (I wondered whether it's a matter of simply fashion and whether in 10 years time, people might be crying out for black and black-and-white cats and the shelters might be full of ginger tabbies?)

Poppy, we've alwats called her a felix cat. She has a dirty nose today from digging in the garden. As you can see, she is most offended by this thread as her Mummy tells her about 500000 times a day that she is THE most beautiful cat in the world. So this has all come as something of an ego dent..

Daisy and George.

Love love love B&W cats and will have no other after the first time I went to a rescue centre and I was told they were the hardest (along with black cats) to rehome. My first cat was a black and white rescue, and these are my current 2 rescue cats. I got them when they were approx 10 years old and had been in the shelter for 7 months. Everyone passed them by because of their age and their colour. Sad

They're beautiful, friendly and daft as anything. Smile Am loving looking at the other pictures of black and whites too!

Coffeenowalnuts, our boys are called Sherlock and Mycroft, felt a bit weird seeing their names as suggestions. Only Sherlock is a black and white though.

Used to have a tuxedo/Felix cat, he was called Murphy. On account of being black and white...and a little on the stout side.

Mimigolightly · 15/08/2015 21:20

Domino - they're black & white and it could be a unisex name.

DontCallMeBaby · 15/08/2015 22:08

I once put a bow tie on one of my b&w cats and he looked completely like he was wearing a tuxedo. It was brilliant. Perhaps photographing rescue cats in evening wear is the way to go?

funnyoldonion · 17/08/2015 20:02

Pedestriana · 19/08/2015 10:11

Quite a few of the b/w cats on here look like my late Charlie. We lost him a few years ago. I miss that mog!

Cremo · 19/08/2015 10:13

Cheese and Onion

Germgirl · 19/08/2015 10:30

I have a tuxedo cat. Here he is. I love the 'Couch Zebras' suggestion :)
It is sad that they're overlooked. When we went to battersea to look for a cat DH was adamant that he'd only consider a silver tabby or a ginger. PicklePig (or Smokey as he was then) crawled onto DH's lap as soon as we saw him & that was it, decision made.
I don't understand why people don't like them. They're wonderful, well, all cats are wonderful of course.

I love the bones of my two Tuxedo cats! They are both very elegant and have been known to speak with a French accent! How or why these lovely kitties are overlooked is beyond me :(
