Yesterday I bought some own brand pouches from the co-op . Fearing it would be instantly rejected, I crossed out Co-operative from the 'loved by Us' strap line and added in black marker 'At Harrods' .

It's worked -so far....

When I first got my cats, they were tiny kittens and I had no DC. I wanted only the best for my precious kittens and gave them Evian to drink.

These days even the DC have to drink tap water.

RubbishMantra · 17/06/2015 01:29

Ah bless you Cory. Your resoluteness and determination in serving Mr. C lunch restores my faith in humankind. There must and shall be a delicious lunch for Mr. C!

Get well soon, you lovely person, you. Flowers

Corygal · 17/06/2015 11:07

No, Rubbish, I am still weak as a kitten. Thanks for the sympathy tho - much appreciated. The other awful thing is that the flats I live in caught fire AGAIN on Monday and I had to do another escape with Mr C in nightdress (me not him) in middle of night. Am feeling a bit sorry for myself.

Mr C got his own personal fireman to carry him through the smoke when it was time to go home, a gentleman with whom I am now deeply in love.

RubbishMantra · 17/06/2015 19:31

Oh no! Your life sounds like a movie though - ambulances to hospital, manly firemen carrying Mr. C through a smokin' building...

I say, get well soon.

Little Monsieur says, err, unnga, ungah!

MCat says MmrrrooOW

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/06/2015 19:35

What caused this fire? are the authorities not all over the landlords like a bad rash?.

Corygal · 17/06/2015 21:37

Snuff movie, Rubbish....Mrkgnao! back to all of you from me and Mr C.

I don't know what's going on with the LL, Fluffy - all the firemen will say, darkly, is that 'it's not a coincidence'. They are very, very keen to talk to the owners of the block. Mr C is a bit stressed today and won't get out of his box.

Corygal · 17/06/2015 21:42

Thank you both for being so nice, it means a lot.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/06/2015 21:50

I'm not surprised he's stressed. I bet the fire service are furious.

RedCheckedTablecloth · 17/06/2015 21:53

My cat is out all night and comes to our bed at about 5am to snooze between us. Up at 7am for breakfast and then we shower while he monitors us.

Another small snack and then he 'goes out' for twenty minutes and then snooze on our bed when we go to work.

Come back from work, he meets me with a relentless yowl until fed. Eats. Goes out. Comes in. Sleeps on the sunny spot in the spare room.

Goes out.

Comes in to sleep on a lap for an hour or two.

In the winter in stares mournfully at the empty grate until we light it and then he toasts and bakes for and hour or more turning occasionally.

Fluffycloudland77 · 17/06/2015 22:04

I have to know Lynette, Who went over to tap first? cat or child?.

LynetteScavo · 17/06/2015 22:10

Child never had Evian.

I wanted child to get the fluoride from the tap water for their teeth.

Cat now only drinks from puddles.

LynetteScavo · 17/06/2015 22:12

So basically me and cat were having Evian while DS1 was having tap water.

But DS1 has very strong teeth. Grin

RedCheckedTablecloth · 17/06/2015 22:20

He 'needs' a clean bowl for his food and fresh water in the birdbath on the patio.

I get the high paw of disdain otherwise.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 17/06/2015 22:45

I once flew home early from holiday as my cat sitters forgot to feed her one time.

MrsEvadneCake · 17/06/2015 22:48

Sat up on the sofa until 1am while Cakecat sat on the window ledge outside and watched me and ran off each time I opened the window to let him in. He was under one and i used to leave a light on at night for him too!!

ThisFenceIsComfy · 17/06/2015 22:49

I always leave a light on for my cat too

MrsEvadneCake · 17/06/2015 22:50

Cory I hope things improve! How terrifying!!

MrsEvadneCake · 17/06/2015 22:50

Glad it's not just me! He just has the lamp now!

JesseandCeline · 17/06/2015 23:08

I have 10 kittens in my house because I couldnot face to drop two pg sisters at the rcpca as I didnot think it would have been to their liking (So 14 cats in total!)

The old Jesse rules the house, the street, the world. The universe obeys him.

gabilan, great name btw.

RubbishMantra · 17/06/2015 23:47

Haha Cory. Picked up my copy of Ulysses yet AGAIN today, and thought I really must read it in it's entirety.

Flowers Wine for you, [catnip] for Mr. C

Corygal · 18/06/2015 19:26

Rubbish, I did it for a year at univ. & I still haven't read it all. No one, but no one, would have got that except for a true cat soulmate. GrinGrinGrin and Beckett (sadly too dead for the Litter Tray)

Wordsaremything · 20/06/2015 11:54

Some great ones here! Cory I hope you're ok . How frightening. Oh and yes, my youngest DC has her own room.

I'm also intrigued by the cat app! Off to investigate....

Keep them coming....

RubbishMantra · 20/06/2015 17:33

Just remembered, I bought MCat a miniature bed. I found it in a junk shop, looks like the sort of thing that would be used for a large doll? He's requested I paint it in Annie Sloan Old White, and be festooned in crocheted baby blankets.

Corygal · 20/06/2015 18:09

Oh Rubbish that is so sweet. Does Mcat want you stand there with an ostrich fan gently wafting sweet scented air across his furry back? That would be extra sweet, be fair.

I am just about ok after the fires but everyone in the block is jumpy as hell. The place is still covered in smuts and smoke. I think anyone who dares try a barbecue in the garden would be lynched right now.

Mr C is slowly calming down, but he shot three foot into the air this am when the courier rapped on the door. Calmed down when he realised it wasn't the firemen. I calmed down when I realised it was not the Jehovah's Witnesses, who have been round daily in the hope of converting us prior to immolation.

ClaudiaNaughton · 20/06/2015 18:49

But Rubbish he may have requested Annie Sloan and you may spend hours crocheting blankets but will he ever set paw in it? Claudiecat has her Toplife cat milk served in a tiny heated shell shaped dish each night at bedtime. Not her bedtime - she's off out afterwards.
