He's been poorly (so have I) & I was saying how much I missed having a cat when we were ill

& he agreed

Squee!!

he changed his mind

So we have enquired about 2 (different kittens)

I'm indulgent with Seniorboy because he's so elderly that he could decide just to stop eating and pop his clogs - and my pleasure is to ensure that he keeps on having a happy life. I still won't compromise on food timing though. I'll think hard what food to give him but when the time for his meal comes round, it goes down and what isn't eaten is removed and disposed of in time for the next feed.

He'd be terrifically unimpressed if I tried to follow him round with food. He likes to spend time sitting gazing at me (sorry non-Siamese owners but that's what can happen with a bonded Siamese) or sitting next to me purring and it seems that it's only when he's full up with that, that he'll go and deal with his food.

You should know by now, Katy - they're wilful cats and there needs to be someone in the household who has a more powerful will than them if they're to be really happy. Be strong.

He pooped

OMG the smell!!

He seems a bit squitty for a cat really

Ah - maybe he was a bit bunged up so his system wasn't too keen about putting more in. Is it diarrhoea or just a bit loose?

KatyMac · 08/11/2014 23:22

Bit loose I think - maybe it's a version of car sick

He's had a big change of environment - and there's always the possibility that he became used to crossing his legs some if he was having a war with the two females in his previous house. (They can be very sensitive/defensive about pooing in particular and it may have discombobulated his system a little.)

Maybe see how he does for the next day or so to see if it rights itself?

KatyMac · 08/11/2014 23:36

Oh yes - monitor & worry Sad

It'll be fine

cozietoesie · 08/11/2014 23:48

....monitor and worry....

You're getting right back into the groove!

KatyMac · 09/11/2014 09:42

Panic over - he has eaten the dry cat food he brought with him

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 09/11/2014 10:03

Good.

Maybe he was having a 'sensitive' moment or two. (Siamese sometimes make me feel like the hard and practical manager of a prima donna opera star!)

KatyMac · 09/11/2014 10:05

Slept between DH & me, on DH & next to DD for varying parts of the night

& wee'd

Happy pussy I think

Ah - he's bonded then. I did wonder how long it would take him to find your bed(s). (There may be Siamese who choose not to sleep with their people, it's just that I've never met one.) He should be OK now.

KatyMac · 09/11/2014 12:24

We are having lunch on our knees & he has wandered between the three of us to find a warm knee (DD finished first & so has a warm lap)

I hope he's confident now that there are no other cats around. Best of luck for the invasion tomorrow morning and let us know how things go.

cozietoesie · 09/11/2014 13:31

PS - Did you drop an email to the rescue etc? They'll be thrilled that he's settling.

KatyMac · 09/11/2014 15:06

He's starting to acknowledge a whistle - not to come but just to say he is aware of the noise

I sent them the photos on Friday & they were pleased then

Ah I'll try but most of the time he is in arms & today I have the children here so can't take photos

Maybe tonight?

He's a big cuddler then!

(Is he in hiding from the children?)

KatyMac · 10/11/2014 12:33

Umm no

He has been picked up, dropped, stroked, poked and generally abused

& he sat there, with an occasional lick

We locked him up when we had the door open for play & that caused havoc

& I took him for a walk in a harness & he quite liked that

cozietoesie · 10/11/2014 12:39

I've found myself that Siamese are OK with kids.

And they're not cats. Grin

KatyMac · 10/11/2014 13:10

He tried to get in my bath with me this morning

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 10/11/2014 13:30

Hmm. I recall when Twoago jumped on me once while I was in the bath. (He was used to it being empty.) It was a (watery) shambles.

I think you may have an........interesting.......cat on your hands.

Aren't you glad you waited for him now? (I know it felt like the day would never come but sometimes once they arrive, you can't imagine life without them.)
