He's been poorly (so have I) & I was saying how much I missed having a cat when we were ill

& he agreed

Squee!!

he changed his mind

So we have enquired about 2 (different kittens)

Met a cat - but I don't think it was my cat

I'll sleep on it

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 02/11/2014 22:43

If you have to sleep on it, it probaly wasn't your cat.

KatyMac · 02/11/2014 22:49

I know - she was pretty, but not special like her mum (& actually most of her siblings)

I was too late all the others have been picked

OP posts:
KatyMac · 02/11/2014 22:52

& bizarrely I don't think we want a kitten

OP posts:
KatyMac · 02/11/2014 23:24

I think we want either a cat or an older kitten

OP posts:
KatyMac · 03/11/2014 13:03

OK,so this is bizarre, ihave booked the cat I don't have yet into the cattery for our holiday dates

The Cattery lady thinks we will have a cat by then, no problem

I know someone who breeds snowshoes (very much like siamese but with white bits) she's in coventry if that's any good, I think she might have a couple of boys a few months old available but I'm not certain.

KatyMac · 03/11/2014 13:32

Oh Fuzzymum, they look lovely, (I googled) but they look very fluffy to me

I wonder if they are in real life?

Devon Rex cats are less likely to irritate allergies. They barely shed or moult either.

They are also super-friendly, and like other animals and children.

I'm going to shamelessly post a photo of mine! Grin

check out charliesgems cats on facebook to see what they look like. I think hers are short haired.

KatyMac · 03/11/2014 21:36

They are so cute

Well I've seen two kittens now & I don't think either are for me/us

Kitten one - all black cross breed - fur feels right but she doesn't feel right & I'm not sure about a girl (her siblings were amazing though)
Kitten two - Beautiful little boy but a bit standoffish, could that be because he lives in a pen in the garden?

When I picked my kitten (19 years ago) he actually picked me - so maybe I am making a mistake not seeing 'litters' of kitties that could be available

Cozie I know you were worried about me making precipitous decisions - I think I just proved I won't

Cozie you wrote "Siamese kittens and they spend most of their time sitting on you being adoring" - I wonder if this was what I was missing & whether I'm being unrealistic

I didn't expect them to snuggle but climb on me or stop for a moment when they were placed on my knee?

rubbish your Devon Rex is totally gorgeous.
katy I think you are right to wait. When we got our tonk the whole litter was there, I liked the look of 2 seal point boys but they continually ignored to attentions of DS & I. We went for a blue tortie girl who was happy for us to pet her and purred at us & she's been such a fabulous friendly cat. I always think you should go with one who's interested in you if you want a friendly snuggling cat.

I may have found a rescue......Actually I have found a rescue but I can't get off work until Sunday to collect him

I am distraught!

KatyMac · 05/11/2014 17:50

Right - what do I clean the old cats litter tray & stuff with?

Am I right in thinking not bleach or is that about where they wee......

D'oh my memory is shot atm

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 05/11/2014 20:56

I'm a bit of a rebel on this one because I have a large old laundry sink so will use a formal cleaner but ensure that the rinsing is exceptionally thorough. I don't use bleach though - we're very strict with the use of that at cozietowers.

You're yearning, aren't you? Smile

KatyMac · 05/11/2014 21:01

I thought I was nesting Wink

DH maintains it will be 'my' cat; we have bets on how long it is before he changes his mind.....I'm assuming before we leave the rescue place

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 05/11/2014 21:23

The 'standard' progression with a Siamese would be:

'The Boy'
'Our Boy'
'My boy'

(The latter said in positively cooing tones to the cat at the slightest excuse.

Wink
KatyMac · 05/11/2014 21:25

My Boy? not my baby?

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 05/11/2014 21:28

Nope. 'My Boy' - but said in honeyed tones. It's the same thing really.

KatyMac · 05/11/2014 21:37

Now is that your DH/P or you (I wonder)
