This time they found the box as well. Last time it was 4 of them and mine adopted them so they thought they were hers and I took them in. This time they've realised someone must be dumping them. Only one found. Exactly the same age as the other ones when they were found and looks exactly the same Sad

I've taken it in for now but I can't keep it on indefinitely because my 4 have a delicate balance as it is.

Why do people do that

Smile Sunshine, so lovely to offer a home to the one I'm worried about the most. She really is so nervous. Spends her time huddled away hiding Sad

She's the biggest one as well so I assumed she'd be the bravest. But that's the boy, he's mischievous and funny

MairzyDoats I've just spent ages looking at your name trying to place when I've talked to you before because it looks so familiar.

Then I remembered looking at my car radio this morning at the song title annoyed that I had to listen to that song again because DS laughs at it and puts it on repeat. Grin

No I wouldn't kiddley divey too.

Which has led me to google the meaning of "kiddley divey"

And no, I wouldn't eat ivy either.

My other cat was just like this when we got her but with lots of patients and time she is just the loveliest cuddly cat ever now. So hopefully we will be able to do the same for pepper. Please let me no what your feeding her so I can get some in for her and how much I owe you for her food so far.

Hurr1cane · 25/09/2014 19:54

She's currently on whiskers kitten pouches which I mix with beaphar kitten formula. I also bottle feed her the formula still at the moment.

She's so pretty.

Anyway here we have Delilah, homeless boy :( and pepper!

Black and white girl had quite enough of sitting on knees when her new mum came to visit today so she got out of photo time

Sunshine you might be best asking your question on your own thread or something? I think this one is dying off

Glastokitty · 26/09/2014 03:24

Oh they are just gorgeous!

wantacatplease · 26/09/2014 06:46

Hi sunshine I'm not too sure what's best with hand-reared kittens but I know other kits aren't supposed to leave their family unit until a certain age or they lose valuable socialisation skills. This happened to me when I got a kitten for free from someone trying to get rid of an unwanted litter. I was only 17 so didn't know any better and the owner convinced me the kit was 8 weeks and when I took her to the vet she was only 6 weeks and couldn't eat solids.

Long story short, she was very unsociable to anyone except me. She loved me which was great

wantacatplease · 26/09/2014 06:49

Sorry, the mobile site likes to post right in the middle of me still writing!!

Anyway, my whole point is I think they learn from each other if they're together longer and become more well-rounded, happy cats. Sophie loved me but HATED everyone else.

Again this could be totally different for hand-reared kittens though?

Hurr1cane you're doing such a great job!

sashh · 26/09/2014 10:56

They are so cute.

Well done you on looking after them, you have a lot on.

Hurr1cane · 26/09/2014 12:09

Wantacat, that's what I'm thinking with the others but this one just sits on her own away from everyone. I have been googling and the advise seems to be to keep it apart and give it extra attention but I'm stretched way beyond my limit as it is Sad I don't want her to end up scared of life or aggressive.

Ahh that makes total sense, then. Poor thing.

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:23

They've disappeared :( locked in the living room last night. 2 hours later no sign of them. No sign this morning.

Oh no! What? How?

Hurr1cane · 27/09/2014 09:45

I don't know! I've got another active thread on because this one was dying to see if anyone has any ideas! I've been up all night searching. This is horrible.

They're in the fireplace and are coming out to eat food when I'm not in the room. Right little shits

Hi everyone! Just thought I would update on this thread because loads here were so kind and helpful.

We eventually got the kittens out of the fireplace, I had to rip it off the wall though so I'm hoping it can be fixed soon Sad

They were all weaned and litter tray trained and that was really easy with this litter. They all just seemed to learn from each other very fast and I didn't once have to pick up kitten poo off the floor like I had to with the last feral litter.

Anyway when they started exploring and getting stuck places that weren't safe I decided it was time for them to go to their forever homes for some proper 1:1 time with humans, especially pepper (with the string) as she was very nervous and getting aggressive.

Apparently every single one of the kittens has settled in beautifully! All of them are happy and purring and cuddling and playing! I think maybe they had some sort of feral gang mentality going on.

I've received photos of 3 of the kittens in their new homes, all looking so happy and content!

I've only let them go with the deal that if they have any issues whereby they don't want them, they would have to come straight back to me and not go anywhere near cat prison. But I really don't see that being an issue with the owners I have chosen.

I would like to say a massive thank you again to everyone who helped me. And a special thank you to their new parents, particularly peppers mum who wanted her even though I said she was particularly feral and would need a lot of work and asked for advise from professionals before collecting her so she knew just how to play it.

The other tabbys mum (Delilah) was such a lovely person and DS quite liked the fact that she distracted me with conversation so he could go and pinch some cake and try to get into the box of chocolates she brought Blush
