Cat suddenly very affectionate and wanting to be with me 24/7

My boy has gone from the least affectionate cat you can think of to suddenly around my 24/7. To the point of sleeping right between DH and I last night. And I mean right between us - like a child with his head on the pillow and blanket over him. He stayed like that all night - right up until we got up this morning.

Any chance you are pregnant? Sorry but my cat was like that when I was.

DiamondsAndDust · 18/11/2013 09:41

Oh shit, Sparkling I hope not. I've been overly emotional this weekend too - songs seem to be triggering me off. But I put it down to my time of the month being due.

Oh no. Is this a first? A POAS thread in The Litter Tray? Shock

InfiniteJest · 18/11/2013 10:04

I was opening this thread to reply with the exact same thing Sparkling said... think you might need to POAS!

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 18/11/2013 13:10

Well, I know nothing about cats apart from that I prefer dogs but I would like to contribute to the poas chorus. That or you're dying... I know which option's better Shock

Sparklingbrook · 18/11/2013 13:15

I wasn't going to mention the cat from the old peoples' home Drink. Sad

Have you POAS yet Diamond?

PrincessKitKat · 18/11/2013 17:28

I was also going to suggest POAS...

Is this the first litter tray thread where it's the owner who's peeing on things?!

hellymelly · 18/11/2013 17:30

Cats can also do this when they are in pain or unwell, so perhaps a vet check if you aren't up the duff!

Damnautocorrect · 18/11/2013 17:31

Mine does this when it's cold, I think he sees me as a walking hot water bottle

BigPawsBrown · 18/11/2013 17:38

POAS! POAS! POAS!

cozietoesie · 18/11/2013 17:39

CrocodileScream · 18/11/2013 17:39

I came to say POAS too! Grin my cat was my shadow when I was pregnant.

Do it! Do it!

Nagoo · 18/11/2013 17:41

I was going to say that one of you is pregnant. And if he's a boy.....

Stropzilla · 18/11/2013 17:41

Was also going to say pregnant! Both my cats used to sleep with me when I had dd1.

DiamondsAndDust · 18/11/2013 18:07

Thanks for all the replies lol. I've not had a chance to do it yet. Although the thought did fleet through my mind over the weekend because of the weepiness over songs. James Arthur's first audition for xfactor last year was played somewhere and I welled up Blush but then it's also near time of the month so I put it down to that.

But who knows - when I get a chance to do it I'll pop back and update. Been a bit snowed under today so just haven't had the time. Very scary thought though lol

Sparklingbrook · 18/11/2013 18:29

Aww. Well whatever the result make the most of the cuddles. I assume you don't think the cat is poorly?

pepperrabbit · 18/11/2013 18:33

Now I'm going to have to shamelessly mark my place to see if you are PG Grin

WakeyCakey · 18/11/2013 20:27

Oh my gosh a POAS thread on the litter tray. Shamelessly marking my place!

MoreCrackThanHarlem · 18/11/2013 23:35

Exciting!
Don't keep us in suspenders too long Smile

notapizzaeater · 18/11/2013 23:36

As it'd be sweet if he's spotted it before you

AutumnStar · 18/11/2013 23:40

How exciting! You definitely have to POAS, OP.

Rockinhippy · 18/11/2013 23:44

My very aloof little black girl always does this if she's building up to a fit, but she's epileptic, but it's the only time she wants to be anywhere near me she fooled us & loves DH - I also has a very aloof black Tom in the past & the only time I knew him to be affectionate at all was when he caught cat flu - other affectionate cats have become clingy when ill

Though I do also agree with the POAS brigade Grin , but I think it could also be a sign he is ill, so do keep an eye on him too

EustaciaVye · 19/11/2013 14:37

Smile eagerly awaits....

PrincessKitKat · 19/11/2013 16:35

Any peeing on sticks? news?

I really hope he's not poorly OP, is he eating & generally happy?

notablob · 19/11/2013 16:36

I opened this to say pregnant too.
