What's the funniest/strangest thing your cat's brought home?!

I once found one of mine sat in the hallway with a grape nestled between her front paws looking very proud. She took great delight in batting it all around the house. We had no grapes in, no idea where she got it!

My other cat came home with a slice of toast once.

When I was a teenager and living at home our cat bought a USED condom in!! We were all sat watching tv and he just bought it into the front room.. No idea where he had got it from, outside somewhere I hoped!

A couple of years ago, our (then) kitten brought in an alien.

She also gave us a couple of slow worms which I pit over the garden wall, as whenever I put them back in our garden she brought them in again. Slow worms are great for gardeners, and I'd love to have kept them.

Another cat built me a lovely pile of autumn leaves, one leaf at a time, in the middle of the sitting room. She also once brought me a rather grubby fish fillet. Someone lost their supper that night (if it was you, I'm sorry ).

The worst was the cat who brought worms in during the night, and deposited them carefully by my bed, just where I put my bare feet when I got up!

Mine loves leaves also. Once counted over forty on living room rug when I got home. She has also bought in four fancy gold fish (3 still alive which I put in bucket), a stripey top for a 3 month old baby, the sock of the little girl next door (had a name tag on it! A sock! I was in awe).

A previous cat also loved worms. I went out into the cold dark garden to free them and found I was dropping them on her head - she followed me out to get them back. No condoms thank goodness.

Grass snakes/slow worms. She runs down the garden and it looks like she has a big green droopy 'tache.

Headless magpie.

Fieldmouse, alive. It took us 4 hours to catch in the living room.

Love her lots though.

I had a cat once that collected coins.

He used scurry around with them in his mouth and hide them in hid stash in the spare bedroom.

Funniest by far was the time I found dd (2 at the time) peering under the couch chatting to something. I asked her what she was doing and she answered 'talking to the mouse'

Sure enough when I crouched down there was a little mouse face peering back at me. The cat was sitting at the other side of the room exudes using an aura of embarrassed ignorance regarding the situation. Took us ages to get him out as the couch is huge and has hardly any space beneath so had to be lifted to avoid squishing him.

We got a live frog once too.

worms, condoms, alive birds, alive mice, a salad of grass and leaves.
my cat prefers to bring ggem jn alive and then me and dh spenx hours trying to get tge poor buggers out! if they are dead i assume they have nicked someone elses catch
Since having ds though our cat hasnt felt us worthy of gifts. its been nearly 2 years!

We had a cat that brought frogs in through the cat flap. It was quite hilarious trying to get them back out (neither frogs nor cat were very keen on cooperating).

nuts, bolts and very small car parts
our neighbour has a small repair garage, and the little bits stick to our cat's magnetic collar when she goes nosing around in there

An omelette and a raw sausage...I can only assume she was in someone else's kitchen,I mean if they were in the bin surely sausage would be cooked?

The other one had a bit of a thing for dead fireworks last year, but it wasn't as impressive as the omelette and sausage.

One of our cats used to bring in worms but now we've moved to a more rural spot their hunting has stepped up a gear. We have had a lot of mice , birds and rabbits. More recently we've had a squirrel and the biggest rat I've ever seen (luckily they were both dead).

One of our cats would bring in a goldfish each night and put it neatly in the tissue box ready for an unsuspecting tissue-needer the next day.

This went on for weeks, presumably until the neighbours' pond was empty!

2 roast chickens, 1 joint of roast pork and a KFC full family bucket! All still warm! Both cats would work together to get them through our large cat flap.
We have also had the more usual live frogs, mice, birds and bats.

There was a story in the news a short while back about a cat that was going into neighbours houses and taking their keys

The owner ended up having to give back nearly 20 sets of keys or something, luckily the neighbours were all quite understanding.

The KFC bucket is seriously impressive.

My old cat brought back a gammon steak, a ham sandwich, some sausages, and over the space of a few months, a family of gerbils that were living under our neighbours shed. He also caught magpies, pigeons and lots of other things.

Current cats just do mice, birds, rabbits, voles, rats, frogs...

The neighbour's cat. Quite seriously - they have made friends with her, she sits outside and they sit at the window, both "crying" at each other. If we leave the window or door open for just a second, she's in.. She sits at the door waiting every day for them to come out...

Never had anything else other than several mice, birds and once a frog.

Oh confuse that's so sweet. Sparkling cat is admired by the male tabby over the road, but she treats him with disdain when he comes over for a sniff. Sometimes she will roll on her back then when he comes over she spits at him.

Sparkling it's lovely, our house is built on a drainage ditch next to a field so there's the field up about 2 metres high, then there's about six steps to the garden, the cats all sit on individual steps .. Our youngest one hangs his tail down as it's quite long, and next door's cat grabs it and licks it...

They got the fright of their lives when a Scottish wildcat tried to join in, he was sitting on the top step and all five of ours/next doors were huddled under the garden bench, trembling!!
