What's the funniest/strangest thing your cat's brought home?!

I once found one of mine sat in the hallway with a grape nestled between her front paws looking very proud. She took great delight in batting it all around the house. We had no grapes in, no idea where she got it!

My other cat came home with a slice of toast once.

Another one whose cats brought in worms. We would fling them out of the window and they would go scarpering back up the garden to retrieve them. Poor worms.

Have also had a doll's sock, a Barbie doll head and frogs but the source of most pride from our male cat was a bendy straw - he carried that round for days. He has a plastic fetish. I'm forever finding little bits of coloured plastic.

Ooh, just remembered. Most impressive thing was coming home to a woodcock in the kitchen. It's a fairly large bird and it was not happy at all. I guess one of the cats brought it in as it didn't come through the cat flap itself.

when we were in London, I got a foil wrapped half defrosted pair of salmon filets, a giant whole fish skeleton / head / tail, a lamb chop bone, lots of mice (live)

My cat used to collect those red rubber bands that posties put around bundles of letters. I assume one of the postal people used to drop the rubber bands on the ground because my cat would bring them over the fence to the patio and leave them by the back door. Either that or she was ambushing him for them

Small golden plums from the hedgerow at the back of the house. A bat (seemed undamaged, no puncture wounds, just a bit moistened with cat spit. We put it back in the shed roof.)

My parent's cat brought a kebab home once.

Our big cat is a softie who has never brought any wildlife home apart from the time he arrived with a massive squirrel. I think it had a heart attack in front of him!

Our old cat used to bring in frogs. We used to find them, totally dessicated under the fridge, and then when you ran them under the tap, they'd magically spring into life!

My friends cat bought her a whole salmon one Christmas. Some poor people lost their Christmas treat.

Mine bring in birds, frogs, mice and worms. He does love to play with cotton buds tho, one of them keeps him happy for ages.

I had a car who was obsessed with plastic bottle tops - he could hear you open a bottle of coke from 200 yards and sneak up and swipe it from under your nose we would find them hidden in plant pots and under cushions, but had the shock of our lives once when we lifted a loose floor board in the living room and found exH's missing wedding ring nestled inside a Pepsi bottle top with a blue Smartie tucked in the centre...that cat was ace!
I was also greeted by a live magpie being guarded by 2 very proud moggies who had to be detained in the downstairs loo whilst said magpie was captured and marched from the premises
Oh, and the morning I stepped in 3 headless pigeons - they had raided the local pigeon loft

Two robins in the last month. Not at all happy with the cat... and half a rabbit this morning

Do you think I could swap it for a different animal? Perhaps a vegetarian one?

When I was a teen my cat left a 'stalk' next to my bed, each end of the stalky thing had an eye on it. I think it was from a bird.

Oh and another of my parent's cat rounded up an exhausted racing pigeon (think one man and his dog but with a pigeon instead of sheep), before I ran out to rescue it.

A local pigeon fancier took it to rest before it set off back to it's owner. It had been in a race and flown way off course.

We got a large portion of dead hamster once. Bit unfortunate. Cat hid it under the sofa as well, it was a while before we worked out what and where the awful stench was coming from.

I've only had birds and an unidentified rodent.

Mums (evil) cat once brought home a weasel. They had an epic fight behind the shed, and the cat emerged triumphant - weasels put up a hell of a fight and that cat was only a wee scrap if a thing

Alot of cats seem to bring home frogs don't they.

My sisters cat brought her a dead frog once and left it in her hallway. She didn't see it and stepped on it with bare feet and nearly slipped over, when she saw the now in pieces frog she nearly threw up.

Her cat's also adept at catching fish it seems, several times my sis has found scales blood and fish tails in her kitchen.

One of my not-so-little kittens likes to go on treasure hunts in my son's room, does that count? She isn't very keen on outside! Thus far she has brought me a birthday badge, a crystal, a pencil sharpener, a giraffe key ring and a very special and delicate ornamental gecko (which she did not break)

Years ago I had a cat who brought me a live rabbit which he placed on the worktop - no doubt expecting a fine meal to follow *gulp

Live frog-I thought it was one of the kids toys, bent down to pick it up and the bloody thing jumped, I screamed and once recovered, had to spend half hour getting it out from the under/inside of our cooker.
