do you think?

DP has thus far nay nayed my suggestions of another baby, or a puppy.

a cat, however, I am relatively sure could be brought into the house without him even noticing (mainly cos i won't ask him to walk it in the rain).

i realise that this thread appears very shallow btw, i honestly wouldn't only choose a cat on how cute it is!

Ragdoll's are gorgeous and lovely temperament. Need lots of grooming though.

Oh and ours is as stupid as they come, walks into doors and gets in litter tray to wee but has bum over edge Hmm

But lovely with DCs very gentle

FitForLife · 23/01/2012 22:00

My long haired moggy is cute. Not sure that's his technical breed name though :)

OlympicEater · 23/01/2012 22:01

You know you want one Grin

topknob · 23/01/2012 22:02

I have a 1/2 persian who rarely leaves the house and a tortiseshell who I rarely see..she goes off for the day comes back at feeding time in the evening and generally stays in for the night...guess it depends on how much input you want with the cat x

thisisyesterday · 23/01/2012 22:04

ohhhh Olympic I do I do I do want one!!!

I have a semi-longhair pair of twins. Mum was a black and white short haired moggie, dad was a long-haired Birman.

They are very cute, but if you don't want to be wearing a layer of cat hair, go for a short haired one.

fruitshootsandheavesupafurball · 23/01/2012 22:06

I would quite like to own a birman

But my moggies are just as cute
I have a cute Persian too her face isn't as flat as some I've seen which makes her look sweeter imo.

thisisyesterday · 23/01/2012 22:08

aww that's cute too

good point about hair though, maybe short hair is the way to go

BelleDameSansMerci · 23/01/2012 22:14

Maine Coons are the best cats ever Grin

You can even teach them to fetch things and "sit". Allegedly. The ginger kitten, on his own, at the bottom of these pictures is mine when he was a kitten. He's eleven now and is a very handsome beast.

thisisyesterday · 23/01/2012 22:16

oh they are all just too cute!!!

awww i am so definitely getting a cat now

Ordinary moggies always! I would LOVE to get a couple of gorgeous furry kittens but DH thinks we already have enough with 3 Sad

MrsPlesWearsAFez · 23/01/2012 22:23

A pretend one that makes no noise or mess Wink

We have a Maine Coon. He's very cute sometimes

ChishAndFips · 23/01/2012 22:24

IMcHunt that kitten is absolutely adorable, I could just scoop it right off the screen. Now I want one even more!

thisisyesterday · 23/01/2012 22:25

yes to be fair if we get one it would most likely come from a rescue, but for the time being i am enjoying all these pictures. loving the scottish fold!

Choose a cat from a rescue centre. That way you can pick one that you think is cite, and potentially save a cats life. There are too many cats that need rehoming to consider getting a specially bred one in my opinion.

Selks · 23/01/2012 22:27

Gah - cute not cite!

Selks · 23/01/2012 22:28

Ah cross post... Glad to hear that, OP. I'm sure you'll find a lovely cat. Smile

if my cat would accept them {she won't} I would have Dave and Mush in an instant

They are just gorgeous and purr like a couple of motorbikes.

BelleDameSansMerci · 23/01/2012 22:38

Some rescue places can place extreme requirements on you. I was going to have two, older rescue cats from Blue Cross but they wanted me to completely block chimneys off (in a 500 year old house with massive fireplace) etc.

I do understand why but I couldn't do all the things they asked so got two "posh" ones instead. I've also got a teeny, weeny cat who arrived as an unwanted kitten. Pretty obvious why - she is a cat of evil. But we love her too. Sometimes.
